LISA DANIEL

HER BACKGROUND

FAMILY: Husband, Keith; sons Zachary, 21, Zander, 18

OCCUPATION: Marketing manager

DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT: September 1995, lumpectomy, chemotherapy, radiation

HER STORY

When Mrs. Daniel got the diagnosis of three cancerous tumors in her breast tissue, she sprung into action.

"I didn't sit back and let someone do (it) for me," she said.

She read pathology reports and literature on breast cancer, and she looked up treatments and medications.

She is now a 14-year survivor. She didn't lose her hair during chemotherapy, but since then, she has donated her hair four times to Locks of Love and Wigs for Kids.

She is preparing for her fifth donation.

HER ADVICE

"I really want women to be their own advocates," she said.
