PLAY OF THE GAME: Faced with a third-and-14 from his own 35-yard line in the fourth quarter, Laney QB Leo Myers connected with Rod Hall on a 37-yard reception for a first down. Two plays later Laney fumbled, only to have Bleckley County turn the ball over on downs.

Player of the game: Myers ran for three touchdowns and threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to Tharius Pryor in the fourth quarter.

Why LANEY won: The Wildcats made key plays at the right time. Tavares Burton had a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the first half and Myers hooked up with Hall and Pryor for big gains.

WHY BLECKLEY COUNTY LOST: Royals starting quarterback Justin Chambers completed 12 of 18 passes for 103 yards, but after his injury, the spread offense faltered.

QUOTABLE: "In the second half, we had to get the ball in the hands of the kids who can make things happen for us and they did. We changed the play on the catch that Rod made in the fourth quarter. That was huge." -- Laney head coach Lemuel Lackey

NEXT: Laney at Vidalia, Dodge County at Bleckley County, Friday.
