Neither weighed in a big fish. Day 1 big fish: Mike Reese, Savannah River Bassmasters, 4.98 pounds. Day 2 big fish: Paul Christian, 32.6 pounds. Initial signup was 201 fishermen representing all 22 Clark Hill Committee clubs, but only 182 checked in after the first day. Only the top 50 finishers the first day fished the second day. Forty five-fish limits were weighed in on day 1 and seven on day 2. Total fish caught: 354 weighing 583.56 pounds, averaging 1.65 pounds.

American Bass Anglers

Schedule: Oct. 31, Cherokee Landing; Nov. 14-15, Houlihan Bridge, Savannah River; Feb. 27, Dorn Fishing & Boating Complex, Hawe Creek; March 27, Elijah Clark State Park; April 17, Dorn Fishing & Boating Complex, Hawe Creek; May 15, Cherokee Landing; June 12-13, Dorn Fishing & Boating Complex, Hawe Creek. American Bass Anglers is the largest tournament trail for the weekend angler, with more than 116 districts offering more than 1,000 tournaments throughout the nation. Membership is open to anyone 16 years old and over, but is closed to professional fishermen and professional guides. Those under 18 must have their parents' consent. Saltwater tournaments

Fripp Island Marina

Schedule: Nov. 6-7, Third annual Owen Perry Memorial Inshore Tournament. Nov. 27, 10th annual Kids Fishing Tournament. Three charter captains are based at the marina, which offers a fleet of new rental boats and Fripper II, a new 49-passenger catamaran excursion boat. For more information, call (843) 838-1517.

Fort Gordon Sportsman's Club

Schedule: Oct. 11, bass tournament, safe light until noon. Nov. 15, bass tournament, safe light until noon.

Tournaments will be limited to the first 20 boats and are open to all ID cardholders and the public with a Fort Gordon fishing license guest permit. Entry fee is $10 per Fort Gordon Sportsman Club member, $20 per non-member, with an optional $5 big fish pot, with a guaranteed $100 for first place and $50 for second place. Registration is with the club prior to the tournament or 30 minutes before the event's start. State licenses and Fort Gordon fishing permits required.
