MAULDIN, S.C. - Mrs. Arietta Estelle Carroll Kirkland Burk, 83, wife of the late Joseph Rochester Burk entered into rest Monday, October 5, 2009. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 2:00 P.M., from the Hephzibah Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Hephzibah-Vance Cemetery. Mrs. Burk was born and raised in Hephzibah, GA to the late John David and Janie Hurt Carroll and was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Clark C. Kirkland. Survivors include her children, Dean D. Kirkland (Gloria), Keith K. Kirkland (Patricia), Roger E. Kirkland (Susan), Brenda I. Kirkland; sister, Margie Ridgley; brother, C. Q. Carroll; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
