Voter information on District 1 candidate Anthony Jones is limited because he has not kept several commitments to meet and discuss his candidacy.
The phone number he listed with the Richmond County Board of Elections is inoperable, and a cell phone number he gave to reporters belongs to a friend.
Mr. Jones did not return numerous messages last week. A reporter spotted him on a front porch in Harrisburg on Tuesday, and Mr. Jones agreed to an interview at his home Thursday. He was not at his house at the scheduled time, however, and a person answering the cell phone said she had not seen him lately.
In past attempts to reach Mr. Jones, the person answering his phone has said he was at fellow District 1 candidate James "Butch" Palmer's house, just around the corner from where Mr. Jones lives on Walker Street. Mr. Jones is a tenant in a home Mr. Palmer owns and has participated in landlord protests with him.
Both candidates have denied collusion.
Mr. Jones has also not filed a financial disclosure with the Board of Elections, which was due Sept. 21.
ANTHONY JONES
The following was gleaned from a telephone interview last month:
AGE: 35
CAREER: Currently unemployed; former health care worker for Autumn Care Adult Day Center, East Central Regional Hospital at Gracewood and United Cerebral Palsy
CAMPAIGN PLATFORM: Cleaning up crime- and drug-ridden neighborhoods and making them livable for low-income and disabled residents who have no voice; enforcing the curfew on minors
Now THIS guy sounds like an ideal choice to maintain the status quo on the commission. No visible means of support, can't find him to talk to him, won't file requred documenttaion etc etc. PERFECT!
LOL!!!! he's Perfect!.................what a joke!
