Southeastern Conference commissioner Mike Slive has once again spoken to Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin and Florida's Urban Meyer about public comments both have made recently.
SEC spokesman Chuck Dunlap would not elaborate on what Slive told the coaches or when but told the AP the commissioner considers the matter resolved.
After a 23-13 win by Florida over Tennessee on Saturday, Meyer said his Gators played conservatively after he felt the Vols weren't playing to win. He also said some of his players were affected by flu symptoms.
Kiffin later retorted that he would wait until Tennessee wasn't excited about a performance and blame it on illness.
Slive spoke to the coaches about their verbal jabs before the season.
- Through three games, Kiffin's Vols are averaging 3.67 penalties per game and 31.67 penalty yards per game.
That makes it the least-penalized team in the Southeastern Conference and sixth in the Football Bowl Subdivision for fewest penalties.
The Vols finished last season 49th in the nation with an average 5.5 penalties and 44.92 penalty yards per game.
"That's a big deal for us ... especially when you come in your first year," Kiffin said.
GEORGIA: Darius Dewberry is expected return from a pulled groin injury for Saturday's game against Arizona State.
Junior Darryl Gamble has started the past two games at strongside linebacker, but is slated to move back to middle linebacker.
- Tight end Bruce Figgins is halfway through serving a six-game suspension for violating team rules and can't play until the Oct. 17 game at Vanderbilt, but a decision has yet to be made on whether he will play this season, coach Mark Richt said.
Figgins had shoulder surgery last winter and could redshirt.
NOTRE DAME: Quarterback Jimmy Clausen , slowed by a turf toe on his right foot after being sacked last weekend, is expected to play Saturday against Purdue.
Coach Charlie Weis said tailback Armando Allen Jr. will be a gametime decision because of his injured right ankle. Allen also got hurt in the game against Michigan State.
PENN STATE: Coach Joe Paterno said that team captain Sean Lee is "very doubtful" for Saturday's game against Iowa after he sprained his left knee last week.
Fellow top linebacker Navorro Bowman will play after missing most of the first three weeks of the season with a right groin pull.
MIAMI: Defensive tackle Marcus Forston will not play against Virginia Tech on Saturday because of an undisclosed injury.
HALL OF FAME: Plagued by low attendance in South Bend, the College Football Hall of Fame hopes to get a boost in visitors after it moves to new $50 million facility next to Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta.
A new building will be constructed alongside the park and is projected to open in the summer of 2012, within walking distance of popular tourist attractions such as the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola.
