DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - Mr. Roy Johannsen Booker, 67, of Douglasville, GA, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009. He was born February 22, 1942 in Augusta, GA. He was the son of the late William Anderson Booker, Sr. and Augusta Johannsen Booker. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Elon Booker. Roy attended Richmond Academy in Augusta, GA and graduated from St. Leo's College with a BA degree in Business Management. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Senior Chief Officer, and then finished his career as an Administrator with the Civil Service. He was also a member of the Family Services NAS-Atlanta, Fleet Reserve Association, and a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Lithia Springs, GA. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Booker; children, William and Shanna Booker, Regina and Steve Moody, Christina Flickinger, Sean and Dana Wheale, and Bryan and Stephanie Wheale, grandchildren, Lindsey Booker, Alexis Booker, Steffin Flickinger, Brenden Flickinger, Keegan Moody, Ryrie Kate Moody, Patrick Wheale, William Booker, Jr., and Ricky Booker; twin sister, Florence B. Chandler; brother, William Anderson Booker, Jr.; niece, Mary Kathryn Dozier; one grandniece and two grandnephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will be a Rosary held at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Lithia Springs with Father Martin Breski officiating.
