Apparently, Aquinas High School plays football tomorrow, Friday,
Sept. 18th, at home against G.M.C. One would not know this from reading the Chronicle, as nothing is said at all about it in
your sports page recap of Friday's games this week. Is there
some reason for this? I noticed yesterday, we got about a third
of a page devoted to Augusta Prep playing a middle school type
first year football game in a loss to Westminster. Nothing against
covering that, but how about some priorities...Aquinas plays a
tougher schedule than Augusta Christian or Augusta Prep, and
you give virtually no coverage. Is it anti-Catholic bias?

i agree that Aquinas needs to get more coverage. But if you will PAY ATTENTION you will find that the bias is not against Aquinas it is against PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN THIS AREA IN GENERAL. As for hockeys comment about schedule toughness Aquinas plays a schedule that is single A for public schools. The state of Georgia FORCES private schools to join a public school league if they want to play public schools. Public Schools are FORBIDDEN TO PLAY PRIVATE SCHOOLS who are not a member of GISA. As such ACS is not a member of GISA so therefore is forbidden to play public schools. This is just another attempt to drive private schools out & perfect their monopoly on education (as excellent as public education is in America in 2009 they certainly dont need any competition) but that is another can of worms. You are barking up the wrong tree hockey. ACS played a school 2 weeks ago that could have beaten any team in the CSRA. (Charlotte Christian look them up ) and not a word was mentioned in the paper about it. As for the balance of the ACS schedule they play teams they are assigned in SCISA. With only 200 students in the high school & dressing out 23 on varsity ACS per capita does REAL GOOD.
