Fight against liberal insanity

  • Follow Letters

How could anyone, even a liberal, be so disingenuous as to put forth the idea that American media are not responsible for our current state of affairs in Washington?

Surely letter writer Jim Reid of Evans had tongue in cheek when he wrote the drivel that appeared on the editorial page Aug. 20 ("The Democrats won, so get over it"). And please don't call me a Republican. Republicans have sold their honor and convictions to the highest vote count just as Democrats have. The two parties are now liberal and liberal-lite.

Conservatism has been sold down the river to government education that teaches only the liberal line kindergarten through college, and the mindless blathering of liberal government media. The current economic mess was created by career politicians interfering with capitalism to ensure their continued election.

John McCain, the maverick, the weakest liberal-lite in the race, was not nominated by the Republican Party but by the media that eliminated any electable candidate. We are witness to the culmination of a five-decade-long plan by liberals and the media to create enough victims (votes) kept in line with entitlements and government jobs to establish a veritable dictatorship that never will be defeated in an election.

Speaking of a president in over his head, I am increasingly weary of being called a racist, a hatemonger, ill-informed, a Nazi and a terrorist because I expect my government to operate within the framework of the U.S. Constitution. No wonder indeed that Obama supports the deposed thug Manuel Zelaya, who would have re-written the Honduran constitution to provide him unlimited terms in office.

To paraphrase a quote attributed to Japanese Adm. Isoroku Yamamoto, used in a town hall meeting: You have awakened a sleeping giant. I now paraphrase Capt. John Paul Jones: We conservatives have not yet begun to fight the insanity of liberalism.

M.D. Jolly

Aiken, S.C.

Who cares what they call you

Who cares what they call you if you are right in your beliefs. Many, not all will call you a racist simply becasue the President is black althouhg his poll numbers are falling with ALL americans, not just white America who by the way put him in office. When you get right down to it, the President no matter who he is can only do so much but members of congress such as Pelosi, Reid, Frank, etc. are the real problems that America faces and they LOVE to spend our money, redistribute wealth, and create new social programs any way they possibly can right along with our current president. What so many liberals refust to acknowledge is that most conservatives were very upset with President Bush as well for the financial mess he helped to create by bailing out banks and giving money overseas like it was nothing. President Bush's poll numbers also plumeted with Republicnas and especially conservatives and yes, we were just as vocla then as we are now. However, even on Bush's worst day of spending money it doesn't even begin to compare to what this administration is doing. They have created over a 9 trillion $ debt in 6 months, more that ALL past administrations combined - unexcusiable.

The Progressives and the left

The Progressives and the left wing radicals run the Democratic party. The moderates and independents are swinging back towards the conservatives. Who wants a party of Socialism and Corruption? Van Jones, ACORN, and much more corruption and radicalism to be exposed!

Nobody thinks conservatives

Nobody thinks conservatives are evil or racist because they disagree with the President. Too many conservatives are calling the President a Nazi or a Communist--they can't make up their minds which. They show pictures of him with a Hitler mustache. They spread bizarre falsehoods gleaned from talk radio (birthers? death panels?). Joe Wilson apologized, admitted he was wrong, and then went around telling people the he was right. To their shame, many Republicans backed him up. Conservatives, almost all of them white and elderly, go to tea parties and town halls to scream and yell and act like total idiots. Those are the reasons that liberals are suspicious of conservatives. If conservatives start acting like grownups--and this LTE writer did write a responsible letter, thank you--the accusations will calm down and we will be able to resume the country's business.

"sleeping giant" Ha! What giant? When these idiots learn that their numders will not result in victories at the polls, what giant will they blame? Will they look at self and point out the absent of minorities or any diversity-probably not. They will blame others and then resort to almost anything. Get ready 'cause U ain't seen nothing yet.

Nobody is calling

Nobody is calling conservatives racists Rhetor? Have you seen the comments by former President Jimmy Carter? Let me enlighten you: "Former President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday that U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst to President Barack Obama during a speech to Congress last week was an act "based on racism" and rooted in fears of a black president." You can get it on CNN or FOX.

Read the history books and kill a confederate. That's Carter's opinion. Just like the opinion of those idiots that call the President a Socialist and Muslim. You do not seem to have a problem with them.

Should I blame McDonald's for

Should I blame McDonald's for making me fat? I chose to eat the sludge they serve. The same is true of Mr. Jolly. I am not a liberal, and I can tell him with certainty that the media is no more to blame for anything than McDonald's is. It is the responsibility of the consumers to have the sense to properly filter the information and options given to them. Mr. Jolly may not enjoy being called ill-informed, but apparently he will have to endure the problem for a while to come.

Overburdened taxpayer, I know

Overburdened taxpayer, I know that people are calling conservatives racist. My point, which I stated quite clearly, was that the bad behavior of some conservatives, not their political views, is the reason they they are receiving these charges. Yes, there was plenty of Bush-bashing, but nothing like the endless torrent of hatred and increasingly bizarre slanders that are being dumped on President Obama.

ISPY, you and other liberals
Unpublished

ISPY, you and other liberals sure as Hell never had a problem calling George Bush a nazi, dictator, or both. We listened to that crap for 8 years. Now that an African-American is in the WH, any kind of criticizm of him is met with screams of racism. And JUSTUS, you're right...according to Odumba's sinking approval ratings, 2010 elections mean you ain't seen nothing yet. "Don't stop thinking about tomorrow. Don't stop, it'll soon be here!"

Sorry to disappoint, but

Sorry to disappoint, but articles today are showing that Obama's poll numbers are starting to go back up. Of course, the only poll number that really matters is the one taken in November, 2012. Also, in reference to Mr. Jolly's letter, I have been a university professor for 30 years, and no one has ever told me what "liberal line" I was to teach or follow. I guess I'll just chalk my liberal views up to all of that education and reading I've had to endure. And I've never called Bush a Nazi or a dictator; I have, however, on numerous occasions called him an idiot and incompetent.

Rhetor, wasn't it the left

Rhetor, wasn't it the left libs/DIMs who called Bush a Nazi, fascist, war monger and held anti-war protests that weren't exactly girl scout meetings? Damn shoe hurts when on YOUR foot, doesn't it? As for those "white elderly" at the tea paties and town hall meetings venting their anger, it is understandable when BimbObama himself says he will take $500B from Medicare to insure the healthy younger crowd who CHOOSE not to buy health insurance, and welfare leeches. His claimn this will come from eliminating waste, fraud and abuse is either a lie , or he is just plain clueless because if that were possible, why hasn't it already been done? I choose both a liar and being clueless.

Folks looking for people to

Folks looking for people to blame about the current state of our nation need look no further then the nearest mirror. Point fingers all you want, but ultimately "We the People" are the ones responsible. How can we expect our leaders to behave like adults when they are representing an electorate of over-privileged juvenile misfits who call people names and look for others to blame?

Posted by dashiel on Wed Sep 16, 2009 8:30 AM....heh, heh, you are funny. YOu need to ask the DIMs that question. Seems we have our conservatives in the GOP (taking the party back in 2010) and you have your "blue dogs" in the party of jackasses sweating it out between Pilosi and her fringe wacko gang and their constituents in 2010..

Deepsouthboy - I guess since

Deepsouthboy - I guess since you are the only one around here that has been properly educated, you know what is best for us. The elitism shines in your short post. Elitism fluorishes in in the protected ivory towers of higher education, where the lack of reality, gaggles of blowhards who enjoy nothing more than hearing themselves talk, and having scores of impressionable sponges soaking up their every word gives one a sense of omniscience and grandiosity. By definition, this is a petri dish for the propagation of liberalism. You don't have to try and nobody has to tell you to tote the liberal line, because it is what you are and what you represent.
