Sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris said investigators see similarities between the burglaries at both Lakeside and Greenbrier high schools.
On Saturday , an assistant principal at Lakeside High School, 533 Blue Ridge Drive, said someone broke out the glass on the band room door and unlocked it . The room's office was ransacked.
The "only thing missing at this point is believed to be an older model, donated large screen TV that was in the band room," Principal Jeff Carney said in an e-mail.
An assistant principal at Greenbrier High School, 5114 Riverwood Parkway, told police that about 2 a.m. Sunday , two men used a ladder to break out the glass of a cafeteria door , according to an incident report. The men, who were visible on surveillance video, also used the ladder to break the glass front of a soda machine and to reach a television mounted on the wall in the main hall.
The video showed the men carrying out the television and loading it into a dark-colored, extended cab truck.
Greenbrier Principal Margie Hamilton said Monday that she did not have a damage estimate , but a police report listed the stolen television as worth $3,000.
