Benefit auction

Perfectly Aged: Antiques and Wine, an auction to benefit Historic Augusta, will be at 6:30 p.m. today in the River Room at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 605 Reynolds St.

There will be a wine-tasting, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres provided by Augusta restaurants and caterers.

A silent auction and a raffle will be held, and a live auction will begin at 8 p.m..

Admission is $100 for ages 36 and older, and $50 for ages 35 and younger. For more information, call Historic Augusta at (706) 724-0436.

A Day for Kids

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Augusta will hold a Day for Kids from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Regal Cinemas Augusta Exchange parking lot at 1144 Agerton Lane.

'Devil' comes to ASU

The Augusta State University Fall Film Series will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at the school in University Hall Room 170, 2500 Walton Way.

The first film shown will be Pray the Devil Back to Hell , not rated.

Silent classic

An Allen Organ Silent Movie Night will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at the Sacred Heart Cultural Center, 1301 Greene St.

The 1926 Buster Keaton classic The General will be shown, accompanied by organ music. Advance tickets are available. Admission is $12.

Jazz at the chapel

Langston Hughes' Ask Your Mama: 12 Moods for Jazz , will be performed from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at Gilbert Lambeth Memorial Chapel at Paine College, 1235 15th St.

Tickets are $25, or $15 for students.

Museum program

Preserving History: Behind the Scenes at the Augusta Museum of History, will be at 1 and 2 p.m. each Saturday in September at the museum, 560 Reynolds St.

The program is free with the cost of regular museum admission. Space is limited, and groups should contact the museum in advance regarding availability.

Caring scholarships

The Augusta Partnership for Children Inc. is accepting applications for the Children's Week 2009: Students Who Care Scholarship Award.

Scholarships of $600 will be awarded to high school seniors who are involved in community service activities and are in good academic standing.
