sounds right to me. another way to tell the difference if your neighbor has a need a democrat will say ill send someone over. a conservative will say ill be right over.. notice i did not say republican almost all current politicians are corrupt.

Really, and what do republicans say about a governor? Oh, it must be different to get a bj in the white house from going to a foreign country to get a bj. But he lied under oath you say, but it's okay to leave the country without informing anyone and leaving no one in charge.

The Republicans covered up for Congressman Mark Foley and his foul deeds for years. Our two most corrupt presidents, Harding and Nixon, were both Republicans. Harding was never impeached, and Nixon left office only when it turned out that he had tape recorded himself committing a felony.

I'm not saying that Sanford was right (this Republican thinks he should step down) but teharper428 I don't think there is a law against leaving the country with no one left in charge, but perjury IS against the law.

There's isn't any law against leaving no one in charge, however, it is reckless to say the least.
Personally, I'd just let him stay in office. The republican-majority SC legislature can't stand him; they'll never let him do any further damage to the state. Plus, it's free PR to use against republicans in the upcoming 2010 elections in SC.

Prosecute Charlie Rangel (D) for tax evasion and then we will sacrifice Sanford. The level of criminal intent between the two does not even come close but Rangel is a black Democrat so he gets a PASS while the people who protect him call for Sanford's lynching. How about Dodds' illegal mortgage loans? Dodds is white. Will ya'll offer him up for a sacrifice. Alright, how about ACORN? I guess that was a stupid question. Okay, Geitner. He is a geeky looking little white guy. How about sacrificing him? Will the Democrats offer up any of their criminals? No, but Sanford, who has not been charged or convicted of anything, for some reason just has to resign because he MIGHT have violated a state policy and flew first class or some crap. GEEZ, what hypocrites.

Nofanofobama, since when have Republicans gotten rid of their bad apples? I can't recall such an event. Southernguy08, Johnson was impeached for reasons that were political, and was found not guilty in the Senate. Clinton I won't defend, but his crimes, although bad, did not involve corruption in office. Nixon resigned in the face of certain impeachment and conviction, given the overwhelming evidence that he had ordered the bribery of federal witnesses. I don't imagine that Nixon was the only president to commit a serious crime in office, but he was the only one foolish enough to tape record himself doing so.

rheteor name the republicans that are rallying around sanford. and are you old enough to remember the nixon presidency the republicans urged him to leave office in fact when told he had no party support he resigned. obama got in because republicans on the general did not like the free spending bush or the middle of roader mccain. contrast that to kennedy dodd rangel and the reprenstative from la. with 90k of cold cash in his freezer. who had or have constant party support regardless of their transgressions.. crooks need to goe, both parties, that is why we got these messes.

I feel so much better after listening to our president last night. He has certainly cleared up many misconceptions that we had about the reform. We can only hope that the bill will become law soon and our president can sign it into law. We are all very excited after the joint session last night of democrats and Republicans.

You meant that writing emails is more serious than actually havng sex with a 17 year old male paige as did good ole Congressman Studds, D-Mass, who spent another 13 years in Congress. I agree with Mr. Rhodes. obama chastised automobile CEOs for using their aircraft. Obama took his wife to New York for a date - he said it cost $24,000. - However, what he didn't tell you is: Three days before "dinner" a C-17 flew Marines and the helicopter maintenance equipment to JFK Airport .The day before dinner the USSS and the motorcade were flown to JFK Airport. These same jets had to return to DC for additional equipment and supplies. obama didn't use Air Force One (the 747) but he and entourage came in on THREE Air Force Lear jets. So, date night consisted of:2 C-17's flying three missions, 3 Lear jets, 5 Helicopters,Presidential Motorcade, 44 Marines, more than 20 USSS personnel the equipment plane. Who knows what it cost the NYPD and NY Port Authority (at the airport) in overtime. The cost: well over $1,000,000.00 - all at taxpayer expense. Now who is not telling the truth?
