The truth behind the 'smear'

  • Follow Editorials

Only a liberal could be "smeared" with the truth.

Van Jones, President Obama's ultra-radical "green jobs" czar, resigned just after midnight Sunday morning -- as if to say he were being wrongfully executed -- and supporters are portraying him as a patriot and a victim.

He is neither.

His writings, utterings and actions prove him to be anti-American, racist and a self-avowed communist.

The "mainstream" media ignored those facts as long as they could, some even failing to report Jones' belated and half-hearted apologies last Wednesday and Thursday for his profane disparagements of political opponents and for his having signed a petition alleging our own government conspired in the 9-11 terrorist attacks.

So, his resignation over the holiday weekend probably surprised those who weren't following the story through alternative media outlets.

Jones -- who blames whites for pollution and mass killings, and the U.S. for the plight of Palestinians and other ills -- bitterly claims a "smear" campaign of "lies and distortions" brought him down.

OK, where are the lies?

Is it that he considered himself a communist? Hmm. His own words. Is it that he believed the U.S. government was complicit in the 9-11 attacks? Hmm. His own signature. Is it that he blames whites for pollution? Hmm. His own words.

So, yes, he's being smeared -- with his own words. With the facts. With the truth.

None of his toxic mess will spill over to Obama, naturally. The media would never hear of it.

But it must be asked: How did someone with such a radical past and outlook get so high in the federal government? And what about the administration's dozens of other unelected, unaccountable czars?

To answer the first of those two questions, two of Jones' biggest supporters are Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

"Supporters say the administration surely knew his background when they appointed Jones," wrote the San Francisco Chronicle .

Here's another question: How is it that so many radicals are so closely associated with Barack Obama -- from Jeremiah Wright to William Ayers to Van Jones and more? When is someone in the mainstream media going to ask if this is a total coincidence, or if this pattern reveals something about our president and his own beliefs?

Carcraft I never said "W" was

Carcraft I never said "W" was the president I was refering to the mess he made and left for President Obama to clean up. As for the trade deals, if I am not mistaken they were approved under a CON controlled congress and senate, so I don't see what the supreme court could do. I did notice your not wanting to discuss the 12 year old terrorist. I am sure he has deep information on the running of the al Quida at the top echelons and that is why he has been in prison for the last 7 years. Why are the CONS so afraid of this kid? I know he probably would not be a firm supporter of the USA at this time, but my god do you actually think he has some information to divulge? BTW as I read, the only thing this kid was guilty of was being from the wrong tribe and he was sold to the CIA for a whopping amount. That couldn't have been his only problem could it?

Carcraft you didn't address

Carcraft you didn't address the "fairness"proposal to stop the liberal media and level the playing field either. What gives? According to the Fuhrer, the liberal media is to blame for everything. Support for the fairness proposal would only assure that for every liberal minute on the radio, the CONS would get equal time. Now that is the way to stop those libs from their hogging of the airways, isn't it?

disssman...exactly WHO is

disssman...exactly WHO is going to monitor this 'playing field'? The FCC governs the airwaves, and they want nothing to do with this doctrine. They made that clear when they overturned it in the late 80's. Who decides what's 'fair'? The Fairness Doctrine would surely prohibit, not encourage the discussion of more controverial issues as it makes sense that radio stations may tend to be more cautious with the threat of potential investigations looming. It's counterproductive and could come dangerously close to prohibiting free speech. I don't doubt for a minute that the liberal senators pushing that piece of crap are acutely aware of that, and simply wish to have a way to potentially stifle opposing viewpoints.
