WOW! A lot of my friends and family in McDuffie and Jefferson counties need help with rent and utilities and have lost jobs that caused them to get behind. This stimulus money, $1.2 million, will really help! The TV this morning said to call your state 211 for information and preassessment. Hope it helps them. Great that President Obama is helping us.

Yes, there was soomething about the rent and utility help yesterday late in the day. Been unemployed since January. No work in Lincoln county. This help is sooo needed. Have to make sure that all the other farmers know about it in small counties cause like clunker dollars, it will be gone fast. Hope there will be some followup on this...but on tv it sounded like 211s are going to be the kickoff point for beginning process so that is who I will call.

Senior Judge Mulherin's decisions such as this do more harm to our community than the actions of any single criminal, event he violent ones. A convicted felon who was illegally in possession of a weapon and now acused of rape is out on a mere 25K bond meaning he needed someone to come up with $2,500.00 - Absolutely Absurd. With violent crime completely out of control in the CSRA even though the understaffed and underfunded Sheriff's Office is doing what they can, the last thing we need is for these violent criminals (especially previously convicted felons) to be out walking our streets. We have recently seen many instances of these violent criminals released from jail immediately committing another crime (this week alone, indecent exposure, attempted child molestation, and murder) all from individuals who should have still been behind bars - Absurd justice from liberal justices.

getalife

Our judges evidently do not see rape as a violent crime. Victims of rape are given a life sentence. These criminals being released on bond and from prison are a danger to other children and women. Once caught, these predators need to stay behind bars. Our so-called judges are too liberal.

wise

It makes no sense to me how someone that commited a violent rape and even took a picture of his victim could be released on bond. I could only imagin how the victim feels. What type of protection is Judge Mulherin offering her????

mad_max

"Judge"....root word of "Judgement".....of which our judges have NONE. They are supposed to have good judgement but they are so bogged down in "guidelines" and "precedent" that NONE OF THEM have good JUDGEMENT any more. One of our local media outlets would do a great service if they would keep a running list posted on their website of every judge, each of their cases and what the sentence was so that we could have a single, consolidated list to check at election time.

da-realist

Where is the justice for these women. I had a higher bond for aggravated assault without a firearm. His lawyer must know the judge!!!!!!!!! LOL, LOL!!!!!!!
