I really don't mean this in a mean-spirited way, but come on. It is time for Lowell Greenbaum and ex-president Jimmy Carter to retire and call it quits.
I am sorry, but Greenbaum's ramblings are getting a little ridiculous. The ranting in his letter Aug. 28 ("Dems' health care will pass -- no lie") spouting what he considers a lie in the health care bill, House Resolution 3200, are just plain lies on his part.
I won't go into every point that he says are lies, because for everyone who wants to know the truth, they are easy now to check out on the Internet. It also is quite clear from Great Britain's socialized health care just how ours will turn out. Ask anyone who has experienced socialized medicine, and they can tell you exactly how it works.
The two main factors Greenbaum did not touch on (and no one seems to mention enough) are, No. 1, why did the Kennedy amendment pass, quickly and unannounced, that all federal employees are exempt from this so-called wonderful health care that they want to rush and cram down our throats? If it is so wonderful for us, why isn't wonderful for the House and the Senate?
The other factor is how much this is going to cost. We will be in debt over $10 trillion more if this passes.
One other thing: The number of the uninsured is grossly overstated. Most of the number the left puts out there includes all the illegal aliens who, by the way, are not refused medical treatment.
Yes, Rep. Paul Broun does kick around the proposed health care bill -- not because he is not for health care reform, but because he has been working with others in Washington to come up with a much better plan without government intrusion. It is easy to check out the plan on his Web site.
It's time for Mr. Greenbaum to retire -- and let's get the government out of our faces.

Great LTE!
If you think Paul Broun is capable and willing to reform hc. All I can say to you is Go Palin 2012.
Keep ignoring facts and tow that party line, concerned....you do it so well.
The recent debate on healthcare has shown many to be outright liars. They make statements that are counter to what they are on record for saying over and over in the past and now they say they did not. Then the video and audio of them saying those things are played and they are not even embarassed to be caught being untruthful. That is psycho stuff. They have stepped on it bigtime and they cannot pull back because they think it will make them look like they got caught. Some kind of healthcare bill will be passed and we will have 100 seats turnover in the house and senate. In the meantime, small business is going to be damaged and unemployment will reach 12% and underemployment will hit 30%. Thanks.
Well stated Linda Parnell. The primary purpose of characters like Greenbaum and Carter is to be examples of how NOT to act. I find them very important (besides the humor aspect) I use them as examples of foolishness when talking with my children.
Great letter Linda!!
LINDA, the only way Lowell Greenbomb will leave is just like Jimma Cahtuh...when enough people, Dems in Augusta and RC, wake up and see what an idiot he is and vote him out of office. Till then, we all just have to put up with his moronic rants. But look on the bright side, you always get a good laugh from his posts.

Greenbum has been spewing the party line, passing out the Koolaid, and cant look and think beyond what the Annointed One has to say. Greenbum is reading the Dem talking points. Lets just hope that he goes as does his right hand clown Myles, who could not put together a coherent sentence and think beyond tomorrow. These two are the epitomy of the Democratic party, not thinking more than a day ahead and thinking that the government has to take care of everyone.
Per the comment, "that all federal employees are exempt from this so-called wonderful health care." I looked at Sec. 3116 of the HELP Committee bill, qualified individuals not eligible for coverage include those under a state Medicare plan, the Tri-Care plan (military), federal employees. Employer sponsored coverage shall be deemed eligible if: does not meet criteria of sec. 3103 for minimum qualifying coverage or not affordable. So the proposed bill is keeping in place good, quality plans. By the way, this bill has not been before the full Senate for a vote. The public option would provide health insurance for those who currently don't have affordable, quality care. It is precisely that, an option. Here is the link for bill: http://help.senate.gov/BAI09A84_xml.pdf
For those of you willing to learn, go to "Twenty six lies about H.R. 3200. A notorious analysis of the House health care bill contains 48 claims. Twenty-six of them are false and the rest mostly misleading. Only four are true: http://factcheck.org/2009/08/twenty-six-lies-about-hr-3200/
I guess if the letter brings up the non-sequitor subject of Jimmy Carter, I can bring up the fact that a bigger waste of money was Bush's invasion of a sovereign country. I'd much rather have public money spent on heath care than on an unnecessary military action that cost the lives of Americans.
teharper....what about the FACT that HR3200 states that Private Insurance may not enroll any new customer after the first day of the year that the bill is passed? Common sense leads this to the conclusion that they will eventually be put out of business since they can't enroll new customers. Being FORCED on to Government run health care is reason enough to oppose this....not to mention that it is financially unsustainable.
Lowell Greenbaum writing a rambling LTE is pretty normal.
Have you googled ezekiel emanuel healthcare? This is the healthcare advisor to prezbho and brother of rambo, the enforcer. If you aren't concerned about the direction in which our country is headed, after reading about this man, you definitely don't want what's best for OUR country.
They are both SOCIALIST. Get it!!! We no longer need to hide that we are being taken over by SOCIALIST. No more words like MODERATE or LIBERAL. It is a full blown attack to create a more perfect Soviet Union. Bush's FACIST FRIENDS set the table. As do all President before now. We have not paused in our march from a "MONARCHY and TAXES" to a "TOTALITARIAN SOCIETY and TAXES". It never ceases to amaze me that "the most religious segment of our society, African Americans, are so eager to embrace a GODLESS SOCIETY. But then the JEWS of 1939 thought they were going to a "work detail".
grouse - it is your opinion that Bush was wrong when Americans went into Iraq. However, it has kept your sorry butt free from radical muslim invasion for 8 years. Where would you rather fight them, here or there? Also, freeing the people of Iraq from Sadam Hussein (funny, where have I heard that name before) was an act of great kindness, almost as good as freeing the Europeans from Hitler, the Cambodians from Pol Pot and freeing others who are enslaved from their enslavers.
Obama has stated that his plan is to, and will, put the private insurance companies out of business and that in 10 to 15 years we will have a single payer, government controlled and dictated healthcare system. A system that answers, not to us, but to the whims of the Congress and the fortunes of the federal budget, which look pretty dim for the next 10 or 20 years. I, for one, do not want government budgets and congressional allocations drawing the lines of what procedures and medicines will be available Every governemt run program is broke. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the Post Office, and the Government as a whole. Why let them run private insurance out of business so that we will all be totally dependent on another financially bankrupt government program? The Federal Government is not the answer, it is the problem. And it always has been when we allowed to get involved in things not specifically spelled out in the Constitution. It should relegate itself to maintaing a national defense, and building roads and dams. Other than that it should stay out of our lives. Everything else it touches it bankrupts.
Deekster, Roeschen, Both of you are right on point, and it is amazing how they are doing it with a virtually "In your face type attitude", yet there are so many complacents here, that DO NOT recognize the threat, or that we COULD be OVERTAKEN by socialists. Because it is Barry, the first Socialist to be elected President of the United States, the majority of the dems, are just ignoring what they see happening, they know it aint right, but they want to believe it is not what it appears to be. But it is, even worse than they know. Like they have taken a FATAL dose of drugs, it made em feel good for a little while, but it IS going to kill them.
Roeschen, what planet do you live on? Hussein had no plans to attack America, was not responsible for 9/11 (which Bush didn't keep us safe from) and anyone with an cursory knowledge of the news knows Bush and Cheney lied.
How does anyone in this country not have healthcare? Every county in this country has clinics that give free medical care to those that can't afford it. If I have to wait 6 hours to see my doctor past my appointment time then I can complain but I will still have waited 6 hours. I have seen these "poor" in the health clinics and if they have to wait an hour or more they throw a hissy fit. If they can't afford healthcare they go to ER's, you know, those areas of healthcare that are not allowed to turn ANYONE away for initial care. Even illegals have access to ER care and the hospitals can't turn them in because of HIPAA. So again I ask where does ANYONE NOT HAVE HEALTHCARE? There are even charitable institutions that will procure medicine free for these people.
Grouse....Iraq attacked our pilots patrolling the UN imposed no fly zone almost daily.....how is this not an attack on America. Those are AMERICANS out their risking their life for YOUR freedom. Try to show them a little respect.
Health care "ramblings" of death panels and restricting care for the elderly are "ridiculous" and nothing more than lies.
JohnQPublic....HR3200 stats that "End of life Counseling" could be mandated in lieu of providing medical care. What would you call that? It really IS in there if you care to read it.
Saying that it is a lie over and over, and hoping people won't read this piece of trash bill won't change what is in it.
JohnQ prove what you are saying are lies really are.
It's no use....facts scare these liberals to death....that's why they don't read HR3200, yet tell those who did that what they read in it really isn't in there. It defies all logic.
Has Ezekiel Emanuel changed his mind since this article? http://www.theatlantic.com/past/issues/97mar/emanuel/emanuel.htm
