Sonic Spotlight: Sarah Greenwald

Ms. Greenwald playing The Beatles' I Will

Age: 28

Hometown: Augusta

Plays: Violin, viola, cello, flute, guitar

Occupation: Orchestra teacher

Pre-show Ritual: "Get nervous, freak out, calm down, get on stage, enjoy myself."

Favorite Concert Attended: Travis, The Tabernacle, 2007. "We just had a really good time. It was a good night. They didn't even have seats for us; they sold us seats that didn't exist. But we had fun anyway."

Favorite Albums: The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Revolver and The Beatles

Favorite performance: Ed Turner & Number 9 performing Abbey Road, The Imperial Theatre, 2009. "That was fantastic. I love playing with those guys. "

Favorite Movies: WALL-E, Stranger Than Fiction, Juno

Musical background: "I started violin when I was 9, and I started it in the same program that I work in, the Richmond County String Orchestra program. And I started playing at Warren Road Elementary as a fourth-grade beginner. And when I got to high school, we wanted to form a string quartet and we didn't have a viola, so I took up the viola and learned it just to go to the solo and ensemble festival. And then in college, I got really into singing."

Her IPOD. " I think maybe '65 to '69 was probably the best time for music, so a lot of stuff is right in that time period."

Upcoming Gig: Ms. Greenwald will perform with Ed Turner & Number 9 on Oct. 24 at the Imperial Theatre.
