Having been in the first row of the second session of the town hall meeting Aug. 10, the photo on the front page of The Augusta Chronicle on Aug. 11, accompanying the story about that meeting, actually captured the spirit of unity rather than discord.
Moments before the photo was taken, the lady with her hand in the air actually was rallying and calming the audience. Lee Anderson had just announced that Rep. Paul Broun would be with us in five minutes. Some who had been waiting for two hours became disgruntled and loudly stated their disappointment for an additional wait. To overcome the angst and additional wait, the lady in the photo started singing God Bless America . The audience joined in.
She led us to calm, and allowed us to refocus on why we were there. Almost immediately upon the finish of the anthem, someone started the Pledge of Allegiance; again the audience joined in.
It appears to me that the photo was snapped as the song and pledge overlapped. It was definitely a moment of unity.

Isn't this how Klan rallies start too??
The moment of "unity" gives some hope to the civilized masses. These unruly citizens whose searching for face time is becoming a past time. As soon as some questionable citizen acts a fool at a democrat function, the Faux show puts them on the air and asks, "what happened at the townhall and what are your concerns?" like this charade is really news. Well according to ol' Corinne here, there is still some hope for unity.
JUSTUS, first, where do you get Connie from Corinne? Second, if Fox News is so unimportant and biased, don't watch. And third, why was unruly behavior at townhall meetings with Republicans when Bush was in office considered "Americans just practicing their rights," according to Nancy Pelosi, but when the same behavior is done to Dems with a Dem in the WH, they're considered to be houligans? And TRUKINRANGER, why does anyone who might not agree with you get hit with the Klan charge?
I'll have to take your word on that TruckinRanger.
No one act the fool because everyone there was in favor of what Broun was spewing, so naturally there was unity and harmony. When you are in cohoots together for the same cause at something like this, no one is going to act up, had it been someone there opposing what he was spewing then maybe a fool would have acted out.
Hey justus4, just located your friends!

Hey, JACKFRUIT, picked up any white friends yet? You know, they'll be there for you! Funny, when the libs were screaming obscenities at townhall meetings with Republicans while Bush was in office, Jackfruit and the rest of the libs either defended them as constitutional, or kept silent. Now that conservatives are "acting up," as they are labeled, these same libs are screaming racism. I guess the rules of protest changed with the administration. Latest Rasmussen Poll has Obama's approval below 50%, just 6 months into office, so I'd say the American people are finally waking up to the truth about this "change."
southernguy08 I wonder what race ratio Rasmussen used? and what area of the country, north, east, SOUTH or west LOL. Because surely they only ask one race to take the survey. I have enough friends who are there for me don't need any new ones thanks.
The Democrats are absolutely shocked to see that, after middle of the road Americans gave Obama the benefit of the doubt and elected him, they are now horrified to see what a Communist radical he REALLY is. Now the Dems see that they are opposed by the majority and, as the vise tightens, they squeal like pigs.
I think both Democrats and Republicans should respect one another's views and right to free speech. At these town hall meetings, if one has a remark, then he/she should be able to say it without someone else calling names and cursing. Let the person speak. On the other hand, yelling and screaming so that other people cannot voice their opinions is wrong. It hinders the democratic process. You can have the soap box to air your opinion, but please allow the other people to have their say as well.
Isn't this how Klan rallies start too??
Posted by TrukinRanger on Mon Aug 24, 2009 5:22 AM....Glad you asked as obviously you are only surmising based on NO knowledge of Klan meetings. I don't know either, but don't believe they started with either the pledge or God Bless America.

If ya' don't like Rassmussen, try Zogby:Asked whether they approve or disapprove of the president's job performance, just 45.3 percent of likely voters say they approve. That compares with 50.5 percent who disapprove of the job Obama is doing.
The results are a strong indication that contentious national debate over healthcare reform has taken a major toll on the president's popularity.
JACKFRUIT, you should pick up some white friends. You don't want to seem racist, do you? Using your own post from the past, "They'll be there for you." As for race asked in the Rasmussen Poll, I'm sure it was the same random polling they've been using. You know...the same that said Obama was in the lead and would probably win in November? Oh, sorry, you don't like that poll? Well, I'd tell you some others to check out, but about the only one he's still holding up in is the BET/Jet Magazine Poll, not that race has anything to do with that. OH, I'M HAVING TOO MUCH FUN WATCHING ODUMBA FALL ON HIS @$$. BACK TO WORK. SEE Y'ALL LATER.
Most people like you southernguy08 (Dare I say what race you are) are overly excited because of a POLL LOL, a POLL OMG not a POLL, that makes your day ooopz I guess if they were to POLL people as ask if they think the fish in the US have started dying since he's been in office and it was at 50% or more you would be happy about that POLL as well LOL.. Oh and there's nothing wrong with the BET/Jet Magazine Polls have you taken one from their site? No probably LOL. And a lot of people like me are LAUGHING at people like you, who can't seem to PHANTOM let alone LIVE daily without anger and detest that Obama is president LOL.
And again southernguy08 I have enough friends LOL.
I hadn't thought of polls on fish. Thanks JACKFRUIT, but I'm so disappointed you don't need any white friends. As for "PHANTOM," this word means a ghost or illusion of existence. I believe the insult you meant in your post aimed at me was "FATHOM," meaning to penetrate and come to understanding. I'm glad I can make people laugh, but if you don't want them laughing at you, JACKFRUIT, you might want to get your insults correct. Sorry you had to suffer the indignity of being corrected by a white man, but cheer up, maybe we'll get invited to the White House for another beer summit.
No I meant to use Phantom thank you look it up, it means this: something apparent to sense but with no substantial existence: something elusive or visionary c : an object of continual dread or abhorrence this is how you and others feel about the president. Again, I'm sorry you live your life daily with ANGER and DETEST that he's the president. Maybe this poll if ask to people of your race: Question: If you would pick a name to call the president out of these two what would it be: B for Black, N for N: (you know the word) bet that poll for people of your race LOL would be 100% for N.
Southernguy08, don't hold your breath waiting on Justus4 to answer anything. He never does and mostt likely can't. He simply chimes in his stupidity then skips out.
