The clothing -- which had been discolored by an exploded dye pack included with money taken from the bank -- was found about 9 p.m. in a trash container off Cates Mead Road near Highway 56 north of Waynesboro, Aiken County sheriff's Capt. Troy Elwell said Tuesday. Citing the ongoing investigation, he said he could not disclose how officials made the discovery, though he said officials with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Burke County Sheriff's Office assisted in locating the clothing.

He said there has been "some progress" in the case. The suspects, however, have still not been identified.

The robbery took place Monday morning at First Citizens Bank at 2020 Atomic Road. Two masked men walked in with handguns, took money from the bank's drawers and ordered a customer to hand over some personal items.

Other than gloves, police say, all of the clothing the suspects were wearing was found in the trash container. No money was found.

Capt. Elwell said authorities believe the dye pack exploded inside the getaway car. He asked the public to be on the lookout for any vehicles with dye stains inside or anyone using money with dye on it.

"Somebody saw somebody come home and try to wash the dye off."

Get photos of the clothing on here and other media outlets. You would be suprised in a community like Waynesboro just how someone's identity may be determined by seeing the clothing along with sizes, etc. Mabye even better...they just purchased the clothes the day before from Wal Mart and video would show them buying the clothes....anything to help catch these violent thugs.
