Regarding the town hall meeting with U.S. Rep. Paul Broun, M.D., Aug. 10:
Dr. Broun is a strong conservative -- as was U.S. Rep. Charlie Norwood, whom he replaced.
An Obamacare supporter had a sign that read: "83 percent support the public option."
I had read earlier on Rasmussen.com that only 30 percent now support the public option. Either the sign is really old and the person has been in another world since it was made, or Obama supporters will maintain the lie. It's been said that if you tell a lie loud enough and long enough, the people will begin to believe it.
Does anyone believe that everyone -- including the currently uninsured and those with pre-existing conditions -- can have access to comprehensive medical care for less cost? One of the solutions to the Social Security problem is to raise the age of eligibility. Passive euthanasia -- withholding care from the elderly -- is the Obamacare equivalent.
The town hall meeting was supposed to start at 6 p.m., but the traffic was so heavy that it took 20 minutes to cover the last mile. There were actually two standing-room-only meetings -- 6 to 7 p.m. and 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. In the interim, Rep. Broun was on a telephone interview with a local radio host.
Dr. Broun's advice is to let everyone in your sphere of influence know the truth.

While I don't know about all of the doctors who actually speak English moving out of the country (there will always be those third world doctors here who we can't understand without an interpreter) I do know that many have considered the idea of getting out of the treatment side of medicine. Another thing to consider, Rep Broun is a doctor, Obama is a what?

They're going to have have hard time finding a country without government supported universal healthcare. Most of Africa is open (except South Africa), but I get the feeling the pay won't be as good.

Most of the doctors seem to be Chinese, Pakistani, or Indian and I can hardly understand them and I just hope they understand me and can read my records. Well, for one, they are charged exorbitant insurance premiums because of possible law suits. Also, the more specialized a surgeon, the more school. The more school, the higher the price. It is the same anywhere. A person with a Master's Degree generally makes more money than a person with a GED.
Max - not only do most VA doctors not speak English very well, but if you ask them to repeat themselves because you do not understand what they are saying, they get an attitude. When my husband was hospitalized, I asked a doctor what he meant, he told me to learn to understand his english. I told him if he could speak english, I could understand it.

There is no truth, there is onlly a debate. If you do not get reform by planning it out and trying to consider the best option for everybody, you will get reform because the government has no money. The debate is about which options are best. If you want to be involved, think up your concerns and present them to your represntative so that he or she has something to take back to congress. Sunday Morning just had coverage on Health Care in France. It was very interesting and enlightening to know there is hope, nothing is going to be PERFECT but theirs is about as close as it gets. (according to report)

If a health care plan is adopted you will be cutting the source of billions of dollars from thieves who take your money each and every day while dictating what kind of care and meds you are eligible for! Is what you have so doggone good? Look at your copays, your out of pocket expenses, your medications, and how much you pay for tests. What does the other guy pay? Is the health care equal or are you paying big for someone else who has a better health care than you and/or the indigent? We need equitable health care now! Keep listening to the big mouths because they are the ones who want the rip off of your hard earned money and your SS checks to get smaller and smaller.
