Construction has begun on what appears to be an Apple store at the Augusta Mall. Officials with Apple would not discuss details about the store, and a telephone message left for officials at the mall on Wrightsboro Road was not returned Wednesday evening.
What is the mystery? The Chronicle is behind the curve here. Apple has been advertising for positions in a retail store for months. If you go to the Apple website and search "Augusta" you will see info about jobs at a future Augusta store. Plus, the picture shows the Apple logo. What mystery?

I'm guessing it'll be open by next weekend. 2-3 weeks tops. There was a crew inside painting (after 6pm) and all the lights were on. I'm guessing the sign on the front will go up within the next couple of days.
