The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms with top pick Knowshon Moreno , the first running back selected in the NFL Draft.
Moreno, who rushed for 2,734 yards and 30 touchdowns in his two seasons at Georgia, was the 12th overall pick in the draft.
He missed his eighth day of training camp Friday while his agent and the team were hashing out the final details of a five-year deal expected to carry $13 million in guarantees. Moreno will join the team for Sunday afternoon practice. The Broncos are taking today off.
HALL OF FAME: Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson has invited nearly everybody who's ever worked for him to share in his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction. Bruce Smith has about 450 people on his guest list.
Smith will be inducted today along with Wilson, linebacker Derrick Thomas , defensive back Rod Woodson , offensive tackle Randall McDaniel and receiver Bob Hayes .
PATRIOTS: Derrick Burgess was obtained from Oakland on Thursday in a trade for undisclosed draft choices.
CHIEFS: Signed defensive end Tyson Jackson , the team's first-round draft pick.
ARRAIGNMENT: Former Giants star Plaxico Burress will be arraigned later this month on a weapons charge for shooting himself in the thigh at a New York City nightclub. He will appear in court Aug. 20. Burress was indicted Monday on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of reckless endangerment.
