Fasten seat belts - here comes socialism

  • Follow Letters

Health Care for America Now's commercial urging all Georgians to contact U.S. Rep. John Barrow to vote for the president's new health care program is just another Democratic-backed group cramming the president's programs down our throats.

The only reason Health Care for America Now is pushing this is because Rep. Barrow realizes it won't do the job, and will cost all of us our health care programs and a whole lot of money. It is just another example of Democrat tactics, plain and simple -- just yell and push until they get their way.

I'll go along with the president's health care program just as soon as the president, his whole staff and appointees and Congress have to use the same health care program. Isn't it interesting that Congress and the president don't fall under this program?

Look out, country -- here comes socialism in its finest form. For Sen. Lindsey Graham here in South Carolina, backing the president's plan is the end of his career in Congress.

Richard A. Wilson, Aiken S.C.

The innovative idea of 'a pay

The innovative idea of 'a pay for outcome' will most likely prompt team approach and decision, as at Myo clinic, and the result is a greater likelihood of correctly diagnosing and effectively treating a patient earlier in the process.

Studies have documented that nearly one half of physician care in the United States is not based on best practices and that at least 98,000 Americans die of a 'medical error' each year.

Under the 'pay for outcome' pack, supposedly best practices as 'recommendations' would simply help them make a better decision, and the government won't still have to meddle in the final, actual decision-making process as a non-expert.

Thank You !

Healthcare reform must start

Healthcare reform must start with Tort reform. Doctors are afraid to diagnose without running so many tests because if they are wrong then they are sued out of existance. Better to have the patient or insurance company pay more than be sued. You can't have it both ways.

Mr Wilson: Have you checked

Mr Wilson: Have you checked on the groups running ads against the plan? Conservatives for Patients' Right, I'm sure you've seen the ad since it runs constantly on Faux Gnus, is headed by Rick Scott, former CEO of Columbia/HCA (and also partner with W when he was involved with the Texas Rangers). He was kicked out after the company was fined $1.7 BILLION dollars for Medicare fraud. He was on the board of Secure Computing until it was bought by McAfee. They're the company used by Iran and Saudi Arabia to block internet access by their citizens. He's also founder and Executive Chairman of Solantis, a company that's in the process of a major expansion, who operate walk in clinics that cater to those without insurance. You see, if people have insurance and can visit their own doctors, he loses money. How in the H*ll this guy was allowed anywhere near anything related to the medical field is beyond me (especially since he should be in prison). What a nice guy. Glad he's on your side of the debate.

The letter writer is just ranting and possibly don't know the definition of the word socialism, but at any rate, change is on the way. Call it what U like, but eventually Americans get what they want. Bush exploded the nat'l debt to give money to the wealthy, why not do the same to provide relief to the middle class? And Sen. Graham will be re-elected.

I think again this is just a

I think again this is just a Fox News, Limbaugh, Hannity monologue disguised as an LTE. I mean how many of the same letters is it necessary to publish. We got it socialism, marxist, whatever. How about something construstive like HSR0601 post. It talks about solutions. The Mayo Clinics costs are about 53% of the national average they have great results. If I were an elected republican I would be looking to their leadership to help me draft some counter legislation to present to the American people instead of NO and namecalling.

Only selfish people are
Unpublished

Only selfish people are against socialism because selfish people don't like to share. The rich only make a token effort when they do share. They do what they are capable of doing. Like the rich fool Jesus described in the bible, rich people love to build bigger barns to keep the majority of their blessings for themselves. They are not rich toward God who gave them the blessing. That's why the rich get richer. Funding heathcare will be no different from anything else sponsored by the government. The last and the least will be asked to do the most. The reason why the same geedy, selfish, and egotistical keep getting elected is the same reason why cannibels elect cannibel kings. People only elect people who cater to their base and carnal nature. I was born in 1960. From 1960 until now we as people have progressively become debtor slaves and their is no reason to believe it's going to change in the future. We are shackle-free slaves.

peace4784 - Do I detect a

peace4784 - Do I detect a little bit of "wealth envy" in your post? I am by no means wealthy but other than my home mortgage I am working my way to freedom of debt and am almost there. It can be done. It gets easier and easier with each debt I pay off. Just use the money that you were paying on the one paid off added to the normal payment for the current one and keep doing that until they are paid off. You won't have any more spendable income but you will have less debt. Then you will have all that income become spendable after the last debt is paid.

The President of the United

The President of the United States has socialized medicine as do the members of the military and Veterans. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me. Bring it on. I'd like the choice between my private plan, a Public Option, or the VA. What the Blue Dog Barrow offers is a Co-Op which is nothing more than a cop-out.

Hey SJGRACI, I know you libs hate little things like facts, but the fact is President Odumba and congress haven't dropped their current healthcare coverage and signed up with this new "compassionate" plan that they're trying to ram down our throats. If they feel so strongly that it's a good plan, they should be leading by example. What a joke! LIBERAL HYPOCRITE POLITICIANS!!!! And Lindsey Graham, first you voted for that racist, sexist judge to be on the SC, now this. I hope you've made plans for when you leave office because "change" is coming for you.

LOL southernguy08 mad at Lindsey (one of his own) for voting for Sotomayor LOL OMG. The LTE writer is another angry white man, listening and following EVERY conservative talking point there are so many in the CSRA. Per a recent Republican poll, it's funny (but not surprising) how the whites in the South viewed Obama more negative than any other racial group and demographic area in the country. I wonder why?

I don't know if the south

I don't know if the south views Obama's job rating any different than anyone else. But, 97% of AA think Obama is doing a good job (Rasmussion). 97%! It would appear that the only thing required of Obama by AA is that he be black.

The big O has already noted

The big O has already noted he does not support the health care plan he totes for himself or any congressional member because "I have nine doctors who are following me everywhere and everyday; we have the best health care in the world." Well, if the big O is not willing to accept the garbage he is tossing to the citizens, then why should we accept it? Must be nice to have nine doctors at your beck and call and not have to pay out of pocket for the care rendered.

Being black is just a bonus

Being black is just a bonus for AA. He had their vote when he said he was going to "redistibute the wealth", tax the wealthy, and give them free healthcare. It's called Communism and the Communist Non-Workers Party sees nothing wrong with that. Now the truth about taxing the wealthy comes out. It ain't just the wealthy that is going to be taxed. Middle Class America should get ready because here it comes. INCOME TAX, HEALTHCARE TAX, CAP and TRADE TAX, NATIONAL SALES TAX. The Communists are in charge and YOU DID IT TO YOURSELVES AMERICAN. Nice going. How's that WHITE LIBERAL GUILT, "I HATE GEORGE BUSH", CHANGE thing working out for you? I hope your family and your children can afford the courage of your convictions. Have you been fitted for your Mao jacket yet? Oh, I forgot. You probably have to wait until the GUV'MNT tells you it's time to wear the Mao jacket. No individual thinking allowed in the masses anymore. WAKE UP AMERICA! Find you House and Senate representatives during this summer break and GRAB THEM BY THE THROAT and MAKE THEM LISTEN TO YOU FOR ONCE. Remind them of what happend to George Bush the 1st when he promised "no new taxes" and then taxed the crap out of us.

Darn those doctors for

Darn those doctors for running so many tests to make sure they diagnose us correctly! Yes, tort reform is the issue. You are just copying what Rush Limbaugh said. Even after paying out for the malpractice suites I bet the insurance companies still make huge profits out of the insurance doctors pay them. The suites are not the ones driving up the costs. That is just another excuse for the insurance companies. They are the problem on that end as well as the problem with the high costs of health insurance to individuals. The real problem is they, and the companies making the drugs, are setting sky high profits. It is not by supply and demand, because since people need them, they can hold us at ransom basically. There is no real competition because the companies act in collusion. The big flaw of free market...when companies get together and price fix.

I don't really understand all

I don't really understand all this but I did some checking up on the health plan Canada has and it dosen't seem all that bad,now maybe the president was not truthful in what he said ,but he said we would be covered with the same government plan he is covered under, another thing Medicare is a government plan and its not bad.My son is on kidney dialysis and if it hadn't been for medicare he probally wouldnt be here now ,so I say thanks to them. Also if you read it a lot of these big government people that are against Obama's health plan ,they have thousands and thousands of dollars in stock in a lot of these pharmacuticle companies .I think they are just afraid they will lose a lot if the health care bill goes through, might be wrong but thats my thoughts

I already pay for the

I already pay for the President's, GIs', and Veterans' care. I'm also paying for everyone's private plan when I purchase their company's products and services. The most expensive thing in that cup of Starbucks coffe is health insurance. Why do you think it's so expensive? I'll gladly pay for a public option if it lowers what I currently am paying and drives healthcare costs down. All you free market types should be glad to have some competition that a public option would bring. I guess you just like paying for private insurance profits and CEO salaries more.

Sugarbabe unless you have lived in a country with socialized medicine then you need not comment on its quality because I have lived with it and it is truly horrendous. And your son was on Medicaid....you know that other broke healthcare system for people who can't take care of themselves and buy their own insurance or pay for their healthcare and just want to leech off the taxpayer.

Besides, you're not African American and you can't determine our circmstances. For most of you subversives, no matter what the president does, you are against it.Rating mean nothing at this point, the election is over. The president needs to govern, not keep his finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing. What should be asked is what will happen if we do nothing? What would be the cost?
