Officials are adding stop signs at the intersection of Harper and New Bailie streets, where traffic slowed to a crawl this week because of a Walton Way road closure.
Installed Thursday, the new signs will make the intersection a three-way stop, according to a news release from the Richmond County Traffic Engineering Department. Until now only traffic on New Bailie Street had a stop sign.
Crews from the Georgia Department of Transportation closed Walton Way between 13th and New Bailie streets on Monday. The closure is part of the ongoing St. Sebastian Way extension project.
