AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Tommy E. Lokas, 87, of Augusta, Georgia passed away, Sunday, July 26, 2009. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Ebenezer Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Ronald J. Wright, Sr., presiding, Pastor Kerwin Jones and Elder Clinton Jones officiating. His body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, South Carolina. Pallbearers will be Jonas Whitley, Clifton Holloman, Greg Helinski, Jason Watson, Michael Harrison and Vern Sternberg. Mr. Lokas is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 31 years, Sarah Lokas. Mr. Lokas loved the Lord, his family and his church, Ebenezer Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He retired after twenty years of dedicated service from the Linwood (Uptown) Division of the VA Medical Center in Augusta. He was a World War II Veteran and lifetime member of the DAV. Mr. Lokas is survived by his son and daughter in law, Charles and Deborah Lokas of Augusta; daughter, Sandra Hadwin of Athens; four granddaughters, Jennifer and Greg Helinski, April and Jason Watson, Stephanie and Michael Harrison and Majeeda White; and five great-grandchildren.
