AUGUSTA, Ga. - Jane M. Mothner, entered into rest on July 25, 2009, at her residence. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leopold Mothner and brother, Joseph Miller. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Westover Cemetery with Rabbi Robert Klensin officiating. Mrs. Mothner was a member of Congregation Children of Israel, Walton Way Temple and its Sisterhood, Augusta Country Club, Sacred Heart Guild and Water Babies Swim Group. She was a board member of University Hospital Healthcare Foundation, Widow's Home of Augusta, Children's Hospital Association Dental Clinic and past President of the Girl Scout Council of Eastern Georgia. Her concern for others, community, and humanity were evidenced by her life work. Survivors include her daughter, Carol M. (William L.,Jr.) Bennett, and grandson William L. (Amanda) Bennett III, and granddaughter, Mary W. Bennett. Pallbearers will be Jon D. Simowitz, Abram J. Serotta, H. Wayne Hardy, Charles C. Piercy, Roger E. Nunn, M.D., Earl G. Wright, and Herbert L. Ellis, Jr. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2009, from 5-7PM at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Bennett, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to University Hospital Healthcare Foundation, 2100 Central Ave., Suite D-1, Augusta 30904; Congregation Children of Israel, Walton Way Temple, 3005 Walton Way, Augusta 30909; or Sacred Heart Cultural Center, 1301 Greene St., Augusta 30901.
