Patriotism must be genuine, not blind

No one like to be the bearer of bad news, but the fact is that our nation has been usurped by socialists to bring about a one-world government.

Under the disguise of patriotism, they have deceived the American people with the help of our mainstream media to support every unconstitutional war since Korea. Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan have been or are being fought through United Nations resolutions under presidential executive orders. Congress is the only U.S. body authorized to declare war.

President Teddy Roosevelt once said, "Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president or any other public official, save exactly to the degree in which he himself stands by the country."

It is patriotic to support him insofar as he efficiently serves the country. It is unpatriotic not to oppose him to the exact extent that, by inefficiency or otherwise, he fails in his duty to stand by the country. In either event, it is unpatriotic not to tell the truth, whether about the president or anyone else.

Patriotism means to defend the Constitution, not to follow our leaders blindly. Every person who join the military takes an oath to defend the Constitution from enemies from within and without.

The sad facts are that our nation has been bankrupt and our children are no more than cannon fodder. I, for one, am tired of seeing the American people used as sheep being led to the slaughter under the misguided motion of patriotism.

The Bible says that "the truth will make you free." The choice is ours to make.

To properly defend the Constitution, one must understand what it contains, which everyone seems to have an opinion. However, enforcement of constitutional values is critical to the endurance of the document, which demands that the previous administration be investigated for violations. Unless wrongdoers are identified, there is no incentive for other to follow the laws. And the country is not near bankrupt, just shifting course toward a more perfect Union.

Yeah, JUSTUS, 1 trillion more debt after just 6 months in office. A more perfect union...for bankruptcy lawyers. The polls have Ooobama's and the Dems numbers down. With the 2010 elections just a year away, watch how many Dems distance themselves from Ooobama in order to save their [filtered word]e$. Yep, more "change" is coming. I'm loving it!

Southernguy, that debt was already in the works before Obama got elected. I guess you did not listen to his speech the other night. You were probably too busy cranking up "Sweet Home Alabama" on your radio. The projected debt had things stayed on path under the last administration's budge was projected to be higher than under the current administration's budget. Obama openly admitted it was still not good and they needed to do more work to try and correct it. At least he is not saying there is some magic cure.

Yes justus4, everyone has their own interpretation of the Constitution. I believe that Obama has abused his powers under the Constitution MUCH more than any perceived violation by Bush. To my knowledge, everything Bush did was approved by Congress, a court, or was already covered under presidential powers. Obama is in unchartered territory with taking over the banks and owning their stocks, by siezing control of auto makers and stealing the assets of bondholders and preferred stockholds and then giving those assets to the union, by using federal funds to contract with ACORN who had already illegally used federal funds for campaign contributions, by proposing a healthcare plan that mandates federal payment for abortion and punishment for doctors and hospitals that oppose abortion, and the list continues daily. Obama has launched a full frontal assault on the Constitution and I believe future court cases will show him to be the biggest threat to our Constitution that we have ever faced in the history of this nation. Obama and the Democrats HATE the Constitution because it stands in the way of their total control of every aspect of our lives. WE MUST STAND UP TO THESE DESPOTS.
