Perhaps not intentional, Thursday's headlines were so appropriate:

"Funding cut is approved by hospitals"; Biden says this will offset the cost of health care reform.

And just below this headline, a warning article: " Swindlers dupe elderly victims; Beware of those claiming to have found thousands."

Thanks for the flimflam warning. So true regarding government-run health care.

So correct Mr McMahel great

So correct Mr McMahel great LTE. With heealth care right now the issue isn't Republicans, it is the fact that Pelosi, Reid and Obama can't get people in their own party to vote for the Pelosi Reid Obama health care plan. When the government pays twice the amount for ham you and I pay, it should become obvious that the government is incapable of reducing the cost of ANYTHING! Then government officials rush to defend this incompetance! Sort of like the VA and colonoscopes, another government ran health care program..

You guys kill me you all will

You guys kill me you all will use every govt service available to you and then some probably. Then when they attempt to improve a system that is in desperate need of repair you knock it before you even know the details. My gut tells me that spending more money right now is that the best idea. But, you guys take a couple of talking points from Fox and act like you have sat down with Chris Dodd and reviewed the entire plan. And lastly do you still believe in American exceptionalism? If so stop telling me our plans with be worse than Canada and Britain. We are better than them at everything else I believe. So why wouldn't we be at healthcare. Plus we won't have a single payer/non profit system.

CONCERNED, take a look at
Unpublished

CONCERNED, take a look at what's being proposed. The system needs reform. Nobody is arguing that. But the crowd that wants "universal" health care, another word for government run, taxpayer funded health care, is for the whole system to be run in Washington. This is the same bunch of bozos that forced our country to be trillions in debt and can't even secure our borders! Please tell me one government program that actually works and doesn't cost us through the nose! Go ahead...I'm listening.

The proposed plan is simply

The proposed plan is simply socialized medicine, and will fail miserably just like it has in Canada and Europe. The Mulatto Muslim Messiah was pushing for passage before August 8th, and has now seen his approval ratings slip, and has adjusted he "due date" to the end of 2009. This is a catastrophe avoided so far, and when the legislators actually read and study the terms involved, they will realize that the plan will actually cost more per person to fund, and will result in fewer physicians willing to be government employees.

car: I heard this tripe on

car: I heard this tripe on Faux Gnus (Drudge pulls his usual BS and has it too) yesterday about the ham. First it was they spent over one million on ONE ham, then they obviously do a search for the lowest price they can find in the nation and come up with a regional chain like Food Lion. In case you've never worked retail, it's called a loss leader. You sell a product below cost to draw folks in to buy other items that you do make a profit on. Talk about fishing for a non story.

Fact. Since 1960 the cost of

Fact. Since 1960 the cost of medical treatment under Medicare has been MORE expensive than under private insurance. That does not even factor in the salaries for the thousands of bureacrats to manage the system. Government cannot run anything more efficiently and we all know that. Why are we even considering turning over our entire medical treatment system to the government and expecting it to be cheaper? That will never happen. The only way the government can make it cheaper is to NOT GIVE YOU THE MEDICAL PROCEDURES AND THE MEDICINE THAT YOU NEED. That is how they plan to make it cheaper. RATIONING of HEALTHCARE. That is the plan. Don't let them do it America. Look at Canada and Europe. Talk to people there. Talk to the people in TN where they broke the state financially trying to to this. Look at MA today and see the same results. Maybe what we have is not eutopia but we ALL get better medical care than any other country in the world. Don't screw it up by following a false prophet.

55 F-100 says the Democrat

55 F-100 says the Democrat medical plan will "fail miserably" just like systems in Canada and Europe. Actually, since it is the government that will be running the plan, the government will calculate the success rate and the government will announce that the plan is a great success. You have to believe them; for they are the only game in town.

Mad max, I am confused to the

Mad max, I am confused to the repubs talking points. I thought is was the public option would run private insurers out of business and we would all be in govt run healthcare because the public option would be so cheap. It the private industry is going to be cheaper and better you have no fear no one will sign up for the public option.

max: Your source for this

max: Your source for this "fact"? I wasn't aware that private health insurance companies had no bureaucrats to manage their systems. They do have a few high paid CEO's that I'm sure wouldn't think of passing the cost of their compensation to ratepayers.(All figured in MILLIONS, 2008 compensation) Ron Williams-Aetna-$24, Edward Hanway-CIGNA-$12, Angela Braly-Wellpoint-$9.8, Dale Wolf-Coventry-$9, and on and on. I would imagine you could cover a lot of civil servant salaries for these figures.

Look at the IRS and anything

Look at the IRS and anything else that guv'mint has anything to do with. Why should 85-90% that have good health care be punished, to give the so-called 10-15% close to or free health care? How many illegals will benefit? No it isn't that 'the public option would be so cheap'. Have you read any of this prezbho health care tax? It states that if you're in a plan now, you don't have to get the guv'mint health tax. After the tax is instituted; If you change or lose your job you would then be required to have the guv'mint tax. It also states that ins companies wouldn't be able to issue new policies so this would eventually put private ins companies out of business. Another prezbho guvmint business. When is enough - enough?

Dissman, Rush, Hannity, Beck

Dissman, Rush, Hannity, Beck and Fox is where he is getting his info. People will always say their system can be better Canada, Europe wherever. But the real question should be do you prefer your system or no universal healthcare (America's system)? Rush, etc always say the Canadians want this or unhappy with this. But, it is a flawed argument because they at least have healthcare for everyone.

Anything that is run by the

Anything that is run by the government is not in favor of the people. Government's role is to create a society that is dependent on government. Look at people on government assistance programs, do they try to do anything to better themselves? No, They depend on those government checks to and other benefits every month. God forbid that they should have to get a job and better their selves. And, yes, the government does back student loans, but fall on hard times and not be able to make payments on those student loans, they own you for the rest of your life. The government will not help you in any way. Some of my relatives like to argue woth me on my republican viewpoints, but they make more and more sense everyday. If one really wants to succeed in life, do not depend on government.

Our federal government has

Our federal government has proven over and over and over again that any time they 'run' a program, it goes to heck in a handbasket and is fraught with nothing but mismanagement and borderline corruption (please refer to the present-day fiasco of a Social Sec. Program, just for one). How can anyone with even one-quarter of a brain believe this line of garbage we are being fed by the current administration? The government needs to keep their hands off health care. Maybe what they should do instead is promote birth control, so people stop bringing kids in the world they can't afford but expect everyone else to pay for in terms of health, education and welfare. Maybe they should go attack the food industry instead for giving us the highly-processed crap we shovel into our systems everyday that lead to heart attacks, obesity, liver disease, etc. Maybe they could put money into finding alternative energy sources for our greedy citizens who believe the resources of the earth will never dry up. There's all sorts of things they could be doing other than deluding themselves into believing they can run a health care program.

"Section 8 - Powers of Congress
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States" I would say healthcare falls under general welfare.

I think America is beginning

I think America is beginning to see that we really have let the fox in the henhouse. "Change we can believe in"? Obama is doing nothing to benefit the American people. No program he has implemented so far will create one new job or stimulate the economy. Why do you think the big banks are starting to rrepay bailout money so soon? They have seen the light. It is like being given a hand grenade instead of a baked potato. Let's give it back.

What do you call general

What do you call general welfare? Where does it say anywhere that 85-90% that have excellent health care must be penalized to give the so-called 10-15% health care? Where does it say that the rich of this country must pay to give the illegals health care? Where does it say that the citizens must pay but unions, congress and the prezbho crooked clan - don't have to pay because they aren't included in this horrible prezbho health care tax?
