Is Jenny from The South? Does she have any brothers?
The true innermost spiritual meaning of what people on Earth call "soulmate" is the one eternal partner made and given by God.
I find it audacious that South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford would publicly declare that a woman -- who knowingly engaged in an extramarital affair with a man she knew was in a marriage with a beautiful, intelligent and supportive wife with four beautiful children -- was his "soulmate," and then talk about his spiritual convictions!
Worse, he has declared that he was "trying" to fall back in love with his wife!
If Jenny were smart, she would kick this insensitive, self-centered clod to the curb and go in search of her "soulmate" -- someone who does not "do stupid" and is worthy of her.

She's the Republican version of Hillary, willing to put up with the public and private embarrassment, hoping to garner something, power, whatever. No self-respect, no pride.....he's a puke, and a lousy politician. No regards for his state or people.
ditto gacopper, she is going to be writing a book, making the tv tour, and possibly getting into politics once the Gov is on solid footing.
He's never going to love her the same way again, nor is she him, they can go through the motions but NEVER. I wonder did they go to Argentina last week? The very minute he's out of office is going to be the very minute they divorce.
Dang southernguy most married people do that.
The Clinton did not invent this.
southern guy, you are right, however it proves that both her and hillary are idiots!
has Mrs. Edwards dumped ole John yet or agreed to raise his baby?
"Worse, he has declared that he was "trying" to fall back in love with his wife!". There is no doubt that Mark Sanford is a an "intelligently disturbed" man. What man, who is in his right mind, would tell the mother of his children and wife of more than twenty years that he is going to try to fall back in love with her? Maybe he should tell her something like this: " You are no longer number one, and since I can't move to Argentina, I guess you will have to do."
It is bad enough when a couple have problems, but, if one of them openly is found out with all the "stuff' Sanford has said and done, that is divorce material. I never cared For Hillary Clinton, but had she divorced Wild Bill, I would have thought much differently about her. I feel the same way toward Mrs. Sanford. I guess it still comes down to who can bring them what they want$$$$$.
And John Edwards makes Bill Clinton look like a saint.
The clinton's certainly taught our young people a new lesson about sex, it had never been exploited like that before. They can't explain/excuse that one away.
All it tells me is you can have all the brains, the money and power and still not be happy. They still feel as if they have to run around on their wives, in search of what?
And John Edwards makes Bill Clinton look like a saint.
Posted by themaninthemirror on Mon Jul 20, 2009 8:57 AM....nah, non one has accused Edwards of rape and attempted rape. As for Jenny sanfored, this is a siutation SHE has to make up her mind about, not you yahoos that just hate Sanford because he is a Republican.
I've heard of getting some on the side, but I still don't understand how they moved it.
So it's okay for Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Edwards, but not for Jenny Sanford. Partisianship applies everywhere today doesn't it? Sanford's biggest mistake was telling the truth early, unfortunately every detail of the truth. He talked too much. He should have just lied like Bill Clinton. "I did not have sex with that Argentinian. We just went dancing." Or maybe he should have done like John Edwards and just denied it until the press dug out all of the evidence and tried and convicted him in the media before he admitted (part) of it. He still doesn't own up to fathering the child. Anyway, Republicans make a note.....lie, lie, lie until you can't lie anymore. You will probably get to finish your term, and at worst, the press will quit talking about it after you admit it. If you admit it too early the press feels cheated that they did not get to "break" the story so they keep hounding you to punish you for stealing their story.
It's once again all about the Benjamins! These politicos all live off the governmental tax base, therefore we should throw them out based upon performance issues and the ability to govern after they have screwed up bigtime. It's tough that the wives & children have to put up with this failure of trust, but then they would also have to be penalized by the misdeeds of the flaming idiot that's the head of the family. Well that's just too bad. They are all only staying because they cannot afford to go elsewhere, and who would want them anyway.
I can empathize with what this woman is saying. My concern is when Sanford made that comment, he was trying to have his cake and eat it, too. As if he was leaving the door open and saving face for his mistress, again at the expense of his wife's feelings. He needs to get his priorities straight. If Mrs. Sanford still forgives him and loves him after that, he better cling to her for dear life, because she has her priorities straight and that would be evidence that she loves him more than he deserves.
Sound like he needs to fall back in love with God.
In the last month we have learned who has the brains in the Sanford family - and it is not the Governor. Is there a way to make a quick swap? In the meantime, can someone hand the Governor a smaller shovel for the hole he is digging for himself?
You are exactly right xpresso1. If the Sanfords truely get their relationship right with God, they can survive this and put their marriage back together. With God, anything is possible. He can change Gov. Sanford's heart and give Jenny the grace to forgive her husband. It's not something that can happen overnight and I can't help but think there must have been some issues in the marriage before this. When you take your focus off God, Satan has a way of slipping in the door and use whatever weakness he can to destroy.
Baroness, me and you are on the same page. If you look at his interviews it is clear that he is more concerned about his mistress than his wife's feelings. He says oh it was just sex it was a love affair. But he has to try to love his wife again. Amazing
I'm her Huckleberry. I've always wanted to live on Sullivan's Island and I consider myself a southern gentleman.
ICL, Certainly what you say is very true, and hopefully that's what will come to pass for the Sanford's. But just watching this guy in public, and knowing he is part of the C Street House in DC, I think the scenario will be different. But let's say you are right and several years from now the Sanfords are making some whoopie while the boys are out at the prom with their dates. Anywho, old Mark (in the throws of passion) let's out an "Oh Maria". Well there you have it. You cannot change a gay male with religion and you certainly cannot change a 4nickator either.
There's nothing new under the sun that hasn't been done before these cheating men did their thing. They all stink! I bet there's a book deal AND a movie in this one!
ICL, it's just funny how Sanford invokes God when he needs a crutch and ignored God when he was running around on his state and wife. God couldn't stop Sanford from being an idiot, and he can't fix his idiocy now.
Have you looked at Hillary? I could never blame the guy.
