BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Mr. Melvin Roberson of St. Mark Ave. entered into rest Sunday, July 12, 2009, at the Eisenhower Medical Center, Ft. Gordon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Brown Grove Baptist church, Burke Co., Ga. with Pastor H. Harden officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was a native of Burke County, Ga. and a member of Brown Grove Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Lorna Beecher Roberson; one daughter, Cynithea Scott, Brooklyn, N.Y.; son, Melvin Todd Williams, Washington, D.C.; four stepchildren, Suzette Henry, Kenesha Beecher, Fabian Beecher, Natalia Beecher, Brooklyn, N.Y.; son-in-law, David Brown, 12 grandchildren; five sisters, Arlene Hughes, Brooklyn, N.Y., Mary Williams, Augusta, Ga., Anita Rogers, Miriam Dixon, Blythe, Ga., Annie Moore, Hephzibah, Ga.; four brothers, Willie Roberson, California, Albert Roberson, Blythe, Ga., Alma Roberson, N.C., Leroy Roberson, Blythe, Ga.; two brothers- in-law, Willie Moore and James Neely; three sisters- in-law, Dorothy Roberson, Carrie Roberson, Betty Roberson; a host of other relatives and friends.
