Mystery dinner

The play Sherlock Holmes and the West End Horror will be performed Friday and Saturday and July 24, 25, 30, 31 and Aug. 1, at the Fort Gordon Dinner Theatre, Building 32100, Third Avenue, on the Army post.

Dinner is at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $37 for civilians; $35 for ages 65 and older, Department of the Army civilians and active duty E7 and above; $28 for active duty E6 and below; and $22 for the show only.

Jazz concerts

The Candlelight Jazz Concert series will be held at 8 p.m. Sundays through Aug. 30 at the Eighth Street bulkhead at Riverwalk Augusta.

The Latin jazz group Rob Foster & Pulsar will perform Sunday. Admission is $6.

Memory walkers

The Alzheimer's Association is recruiting teams and individuals to participate in Memory Walk 2009, which will take place Saturday, Nov. 7.

The first 50 team captains or individual walkers to register before Monday will be invited to the kickoff luncheon Aug. 7 at Carrabba's Italian Grill, 2832 Washington Road.

Movies for teens

A Teen Movie Series is being held at 6:30 p.m. Mondays in July at Augusta Public Library, 902 Greene St.

Twilight , rated PG-13, will be shown Monday.

River of Words, an arts and environmental education exhibit, is on display through Thursday, July 23, at the Augusta Public Library, 902 Greene St.

Recycling event

A CSRA Public Electronics Recycle Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at the Fort Discovery bus entrance at Reynolds Street and Discovery Drive.

Unacceptable items include kitchen appliances, washers, dryers, wood speakers, electric ovens and microwave ovens.

Also, there will be a $10 cash charge for every recycled television.

Benefit auction

Perfectly Aged: Antiques and Wine, an auction to benefit Historic Augusta, will be held Thursday, Sept. 10, at the River Room at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 605 Reynolds St.

The gala evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a wine-tasting, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres provided by Augusta restaurants and caterers.

There will be a silent auction of antiques and fine wines and a raffle will be held for three luxury items.

A live auction will begin at 8 p.m., with bidding on fine antiques, art, premium wines and entertainment packages.

Admission is $100 per person for ages 36 and older, and $50 for ages 35 and younger.
