NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mrs. Lois S. Chassereau, 79, entered into rest Sunday, July 12, 2009 at her residence. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 17, 2009, at 11:00 am at Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Joe Lusk officiating. Mrs. Chassereau was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta. She was a substitute teacher for many years in Aiken and Edgefield Counties. She is preceded in death by her husband, Horace Chassereau and her parents, Edgar and Virgie Cope Smith. Survivors include her son, Randy Chassereau (Diane) of North Augusta, SC; one brother, Jake Smith of Hampton, SC; three sisters, Mary Mitchell of Sun City, SC, Dorothy Cope of Beaufort, SC, and Franc Patton of Savannah, GA; and one granddaughter, Crystal Chassereau. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1105 Furys Lane, Ste. D, Augusta, GA 30907.
