Quit because of Obama? No thanks
Letter to the Editor
Wednesday, July 15, 2009

After reading the letter from William Zimmerman ("Obama has won; I've given up the fight," July 13), I felt compelled to respond. Mr. Zimmerman is doing exactly what Obama wants him to do -- quit!

This nation was not built by quitters! By quitting, he is no longer telling his senator or representative what he feels and how he wants them to vote. Thus, he is handing over this country to Obama to do with as he sees fit, and that scares the life out of me!

By quitting, Mr. Zimmerman is laying the groundwork for his children and grandchildren who will have to live with the mess he "quit." How does he explain that to them?

By quitting he is condoning Obama's bigger government. Remember, each government employee, except those elected to Congress, is a parasite, feeding off the tax dollars and contributing nothing to the Gross National Product. If government continues to grow, it will take more and more tax dollars to support it. And where do you suppose those dollars will come from? From quitters!

By quitting he is telling Obama it is OK to form youth groups for civilian work (remember Hitler and his youth groups?) and giving his children/grandchildren something to do.

Sorry, Mr. Zimmerman, but I choose not to quit. As long as there is breath in my body I plan to resist Obama and his tactics to ruin America, and there are thousands of us out here. We do not want his health care package, his bailouts, his wasteful spending on earmarks nor any of his other "czarist" activities! He is administering Chicago-style political tactics on the American people, and it must stop!

Please don't quit!

James E. Nixon
