Pray for Sanfords; let him finish job

Letting this come out will hopefully allow Gov. Sanford and Jenny to get back together, as he is opening completely up and she and her boys have to work on forgiveness.

Gov. Sanford and Jenny are going through rough times, and being transparent, letting the light shine on each other's problems, will go a long way, hopefully, to build a stronger marriage and to raise their young men.

Concerning his leadership, we have seen over the last six years Gov. Sanford taking a leadership role, shaking South Carolina with wit and being dogmatic about the blotted state agencies. He has stepped on toes of both legislators and agencies. The good-old boys, Republicans and Democrats, do not like it.

So what? They need to be changed to better serve us with better education and working together, which will help bring in better jobs.

South Carolina schools are 49th or 50th in dropout rates, and not providing an education acceptable in comparison to other states and many Third World countries. Gov. Sanford has been the leader in giving fresh new ideas with school choice, with no new proposed taxes. It is funny, now South Carolina public school systems are looking to use internal school choice (charter schools).

He took leadership by trying to get the legislators to cut spending over all these years and put it in rainy-day accounts.

Did they listen? No! Most were boneheaded and could not see the future past their on noses -- Republicans and Democrats.

I believe we should be praying for their guidance and direction. Let us support the governor and his family and let him finish what I see as a good job.

Louis W. Neiger, Newberry, S.C.

The writer fails to be convincing about Sanford's performance and doesn't offer a single good reason why he should keep his job. Whats not printed in that article is hidden and require a trained eye to spot: Ol' Lou thinks the governor should keep his job because of his race. Yep, it is hidden in the LTE and had any minority elected official done half what this guy did, he would be fighting charges and jail. Prosecutors could easily prove he violated the public's trust and misused tax dollars. That is breaking the law! But because only white guys occupy those critical positons, i.e. attorney general and law enforcement, they just laugh and joke at the public, while violating their oaths. Citizens of that state, especially minorities, are being made complete fools by not questioning the lack of charges and holding the governor accountable. Great country, eh? Well, it depends from where U sit.

justus4, you are totally insane. No where in this letter has the writer indicated that Gov. Sanford should keep his job because of race. You are one sad individual...so much hate for the white race that you can not even be objective. It amazes me that you always post one bias opinion and then no more discussion to back up your claim. You need some serious help justus4.

I really don't care if Sanford and his wife work things out or if he continues things with his S.American soulmate... if he governs well and South Carolinians are happy with his governorship, he should keep his job. However, he'll never be able conjure the words "protecting the sanctity of marriage".

Justus4 ALWAYS brings race into it!! I wish the AC would ban that moron!!

If he does not have much longer to go, let him finish. At least he wants to finish, unlike another Governor, who quit.

I'll bet the writer had a different opinion when Clinton was caught with his pants down! Maybe if Sanford attended to the affairs of his state, instead of his affairs, SC's rankings in education and so forth, would improve.

Justass4, investigations have already determine Sanford did not use/misuse any state funds. Kepp on blathering your rtacist nonsense. You need to be back on the plantation chopping cotton, then you may be satisfied and justified in your daily racist drivel.

Posted by grouse on Mon Jul 13, 2009 11:16 AM ....Sanford has neither lied to the American public or South Carolinians nor been impeached for lying to the court when trying to wiggle out of the Paula Jones rape case.

grouse

What do you mean he didn't lie to the America public or South Carolinians?? He said he was on the Appalachian Trail...

willistontownsc

Sanford has lied and he has been lying to SC since Jaunary 15, 2003. Only this time, his lies caught up to him. If I were Jenny Sanford -- I would pull a Tricia Walsh on the gov.

DeborahElliott2

Have to agree with Grouse on this one, he did lie.

Lorraine

Why should Governor Sanford keep his job after all he neglected his post, failure to notify the Lt. Governor of his true where abouts, and spending South Carolina monies for his escape. Oh, I forgot he later pay the monies back. There are no justifiable rationales for Governor Sanford to keep his job. Apparently, he has very little regard for the law. Governor Sanford is not above the law. Governor Sanford had no empathy for President Clinton or any other politician when caught with both hands in the cookie jar.

So, I rob a bank and when the police catch me and I return the money back to the bank, I am forgiven and not subjected to any further charges by the police. Is that the way this thing works ?,Governor. You got caught stealing from the taxpayers......It takes a little more than bringing it back....come on Clyde ! Walk out with a little Grace !!

shamrock

Unless you're a SC voter, you really don't have an opinion on this one!!

Lorraine

Shamrock, I do not have to be a SC voter to weigh in on this subject matter. Get a grip!
