VAUCLUSE, S.C. - Entered into eternal rest on Independence Day, July 4, 2009, Mr. Jessie Malon Lott, Jr., age 93 of Vaucluse, S.C., loving husband for 64 precious years to Anna McCarty Lott and son of the late Jessie M. Lott, Sr. and the late Permelia Green Lott. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Larry K. (Billie Ann Turner) Lott of Tyrone, Georgia; daughters, Loretta L. (Bill) Farrow of Aiken, S.C. and Pam L. (Don) Burnett of Graniteville, S.C; grandchildren: Julie M. Mills, Nathan D. Lott, Micah E. Lott, Erin K. McFadden, Anna M. Farrow and Adam M. Burnett; great grandchildren: Lydia Westbrook, Turner Lott, Malon McFadden and Julia Lott; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lott was born in and was a lifelong resident of Vaucluse, S.C.; full-fledged Vauclusian, knot and all. He was a member of the Graniteville Leisure Club. He was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Vaucluse and a former member of Eureka Baptist Church for 39 years. He was a very strong Christian man whose motto was 'born once, die twiceÉ.born twice, die once.' He and his wife were known for visiting and ministering to shut-ins at various nursing homes. He was so dedicated to his fellowman that in 1993, he made the decision, when he passed away, to donate his body to MCG for research to benefit others. He was always loving and was always loved by everyone. He will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched; but there is a consolation in knowing that life for Mr. J.M. has not ended, but only begun in a better land. A memorial service celebrating his life, will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Vaucluse with Rev. Hugh Hagen officiating. The interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church activity building. The family would like to express their gratitude to Pepper Hill Nursing Center, where he resided his last three years and to Regency Hospice for the care they gave him. Memorials, in Mr. J.M's honor, may be made to his church, #1 Church Street, Vaucluse, S.C. 29850. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of the arrangements.
