Neo-liberal agenda: no room for dissent

  • Follow Letters

Sarah Palin has resigned as governor of Alaska. What a pity. What a bright star she was for national politics. What a fresh, energetic style and message she brought to the 2008 presidential election and promise for future elections.

My wife and I attended her campaign appearance for Sen. Chambliss in Augusta as thousands cheered her intensity and her message in the Senate run-off election.

Was she driven out? Has she grown tired of seeing her children mocked and insulted by the mainstream media and by left-wing TV hosts? Is she tired of spending Alaska's tax money and her family's money to answer one frivolous legal attack after another? What did she do wrong? Why do they hate her so?

What was it that sent them into such a frenzy of attack and destruction, even attacking her children? Liberals are, by definition, people who appreciate and celebrate the rights of others to their own opinions and viewpoints. Classic liberals embrace diversity in thought and beliefs, just as in lifestyles and in actions.

Today's neo-lefties in the Democrat Party today are the antithesis of liberalism. They accept nothing but their own agenda. It's their dogma that must prevail. It's abortion on demand. It's man-made global warming. It's no more drilling. It's tiny cars with teensie engines. It's "Suzy has two mommies." It's their way or the highway.

They want to decide how much money you can make, how little of it you can keep, what kind of car you drive, what kind of house you live in, how much energy you can use, what your kids are taught at school, on and on, and on.

These people are fascists. They believe their version of government must be (and will be) foisted on everyone. They believe it's perfectly acceptable to use any fraudulent methodology necessary to "win" elections and then, having won, to completely ignore the opposition party to steamroll their agenda.

Have no doubt about their willingness to use the police and the military to force that agenda, if they could. Writer Mark Levin calls them "statists." That's a correctly descriptive word for them. They are definitely not liberals. They abhor individual rights, even individual thoughts. They want to use the power of the state to rule every aspect of your life in accordance with their agenda. If you get in their way, or if you seem an effective spokesman against that agenda, it's Katy bar the door, because they're coming after you and your family.

Sarah Palin got in their way. Sarah Palin had a family, and that family included young children. Withstanding an all-out attack from the ultra-left statists in the Democrat Party is tough enough if it's just you, your spouse and adult children. Weathering such brutal personal attacks becomes much tougher when little kids are involved.

Ruthless, dishonest, and evil, these people have no ethics and no scruples.

Only an agenda.

Tom Taber

Sarah's "treatment" is

Sarah's "treatment" is brought on by herself. All she has to do is keep opening her mouth, exposing on a daily basis what a limited view she has of the world. Her skin is thin, as evidenced by her running from office. This delusional woman thinks she has a mandate to run for the presidency in 2012. Except for the extreme right, she is mostly viewed as something of a joke. It has nothing to do with the press, the far left, or anything else besides her own disjointed warblings. Just more crying from the right this LTE is, about the biggest crybaby in the Republican party. You people have got to be kidding. Her own party is on her tail in Alaska, not the "evil" left. The left doesn't have to do a thing, as this dingbat provides humorous fodder at every contrived turn she takes in the public eye. Same old tired rhetoric by those with no clue. How you guys can complain about the direction of this country while hailing this deluded hockey mom as your new savior speaks volumes about your ability to think rationally. Give us a break.

Lobosolo and GaCopperhead- I like to ask folks that support Obama simple questions but I ussually get no answer but I keep trying- Napoleon once said (I believe but I may be wrong) "If your enemy is in the process of destroying themselves don't interfer" Why do you guys care what Palin does? In a few short weeks she will be a citizen devoid of government responsiblities so why care? YOu really a are funny bunch. I will await your answer as I have many other questions with no answer like how do we pay for all of Obama's spending? Where are Obama's college records? Name one Postivie thing Obama did as a Politician other than line his pocket? Still haven't gotten any answers from the left to any of these questions..One more questions How many promises HASN"T Obama broken? Baaaawhahahaha Keep chanting OBAMA IS PRESIDENT ALL IS WELL,OBAMA IS PRESIDENT ALL IS WELL,OBAMA IS PRESIDENT ALL IS WELL,OBAMA IS PRESIDENT ALL IS WELL, Baaaawhahaha

Carcraft, I will admit that

Carcraft, I will admit that Obama is showing himself to be a politician, nothing more. Republicans sound totally inane, criticizing a sitting pres for deficits, when the past President expanded government and government spending at an equally alarming rate. McCain showed himself to be ill prepared and ignorant of the economy's rapid decent, and Palin showed herself to be a nothing, poorly prepared for her run, and ignorant of anything except catchphrases, and having no substance. I longed for, and still do, a good moderate Republican to run, and was deeply disappointed that Ron Paul was ignored. I truly believe that all members of the government fear him, because he would put a the crooked politicians in deep trouble, not to mention eliminating the Fed and getting us back on the gold standard, which would put the brakes on government and private deficit spending. Republicans need to really take a look at why so many of them have left the party, and voted against any more of the same old stuff that McCain was preaching, and put forward a real, intelligent candidate who actually offers an alternative. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening in the near future,

Sorry, I didn't answer your

Sorry, I didn't answer your question. Why do I care what Plain does? I care because, as I said, she would insure another extreme liberal Presidency. She is ignorant, a Fundmentalist Christian, and a vindictive person. I don't believe for one moment that all the ethics complaints against her are frivolous, nor do I agree with her statement that she has been vindicated in every instance. She has only been vindicated in instances where the investigations were done by her handpicked juries. We do not need more of the same old Republican mantras, which have been shown for what they are. It's time for new candidates, who show intelligence and MODERATION. Not another "Decider-in Chief" or a Philanderer and a "Pig-in Lipstick".

Gacopperhead, Obama helped

Gacopperhead, Obama helped reelect Blagojevich as Governor of Illinios when he was under FEDERAL investigation for corruption. Palin sent Gov Stevens to jail for corruption, Palin has the Alaska natural gas pripe off the ground to improve energy independance in the US (she got Exxonmobile to sign on). Why did your ethical highly educated LAW SCHOOL graduate Barak Obama, support a corrupt Governor?..and dispite this you folks supported Obama, dispite you views on Palin there have been no criminal investagations of her activities unlike Blagojevich who was under investigation when Obama was supporting him..Until you can answer that then enough about Palin's ethic's...

If Sarah is as stupid as you

If Sarah is as stupid as you statists think, then why do you care what she does? You people called Reagan a dunderhead and yet he's the reason that the Berlin Wall doesn't exist. The USSR couldn't keep up with us and collapsed from within. You call GW Bush an idiot, yet until the last year of his Presidency managed to grow the economy even after inheriting a recession from his predecessor and getting us through 9/11. Your Ivy league graduates who are supposed to be so smart haven't a clue as to how the real world works. They think that nuancing Russia, North Korea and Iran will solve all the world's problems. All that weakness did was feed the fire of people like OBL.

Sarah Palin has resigned as governor of Alaska. What a pity. What a dim bulb she has been for national politics. What a incoherent and damaging message she brought to the 2008 presidential election. What a scourge she represents for future elections.

What did she do wrong? Why is she such a victim today? Boo hoo, boo hoo, its exactly what they did to Hillary. What frenzy of attack and destruction do we endure against our female presidential candidates? Maybe its not a neo liberal or neo con thing at all...maybe a more insightful letter would better serve as "featured letter" instead of this smarmy schmaltz. Maybe if we stepped back from all the finger pointing we would realize that this is the same load of crap those neo liberals were shoveling just seven months ago. Go suck your thumb in front of your tv,idiot.

How would you like YOUR

How would you like YOUR children attacked as viciously as the media and so-called "comics" did Sarah Palin's children? To show a political cartoon of her infant, Trig, that is horridly disfigured on the heels of the Letterman escapade would be enough for me to come after you with a vengence. Sarah Palin has class, she is extremely intelligent, and certainly a far better person for the Oval Office than what is in there now. The lady has a right to protect her family, especially the children; are you less a parent?

The obsession and attack of Sara continues by the dim bulbs. They obsess over Sara and look what they ended up with. They have the incompetent/teleprompter drug addict quitter prezbho; plagerist/GAFFE machine biden; geithner the tax cheat; the liars, socialists, thieves; rambo the ballerina enforcer; 30 czars who answer only to prezbho; lobbyists (weren't going to have any); holder the racist; and the list goes on and on. Their words betray them, when they say Sara doesn't bother them.

Funny GACopperhead says McCAin "was ignorant of the rapid decent of the economy". Obama critized him for saying the fundamentals of the economy were sound. After taking office the community oraganizer and chief said the funadamentals of our economy were strong. I guess it was ok for Barry to use those same words eh GAC?

Upon awakening I see the indomitable and oh-so-enlightened Pettythomas is waxing purulent again from his throne of doughnuts, no doubt refreshed by another night of dreams of his inamorato, this time probably clad in unused fishing waders and well used fishnet stockings. We all know where you come from, PT. Carcraft, the folks who really care about the nation improving itself after the eight torturous (no pun intended) years of Cheney have the sense to know that six months in office is way too short a time period to measure anything about the economy. Those with sense know this will take time (probably more than needed due to the influence of peddlers on the members of Congress). People with a modicum of insight know what the President is up against. Also, Carcraft, if you truly want to intelligently debate the progress of the President, I would suggest finding a site that isn't devoted to right-wing hysteria. This ain't it. Moreover, you'll always be blind to what Obama has accomplished so far, as you and the rest of the right will always refuse to see it. I use this site to post my opinion, nothing more. I've seen better environments for discourse on elementary playgrounds.

dashiel on Thu Jul 9, 2009 8:28 AM Pray tell what did she steal? Not one ethics violation has been substantiated, not one criminal investigation, BUT THE SITTING PRESIDENT OF THE US (not a resigning Gov) has two political allies one convicted (Rezko), the other under indictment Blagojivich (who Obama helped reelect while under FEDERAL investigation) and you seem to think Palin is note worth for ethical lapses? Swallowing camels and straining at nats perhaps? You folks excoriate Bush for running up deficits and rightly so but have no problem with Obama doubling the national debt?

Here's my summary: Palin is not it. Let her go. It was an amusing experiment from which we learned a lot. If I went and joined a professional football team in my present shape and whined afterwards because I ended up in a bodycast and the team lost the game, I would have to eat crow and take all the jibes, lampooning, and insults that follow. I'll give Palin a solid "atta girl", but she does not belong on the field.
