a little mascaro

As a medical illustrator, David Mascaro became a master at rendering detail. In his fine art he presents a broader range, with loose, painterly brushwork underscored by his signature attention to structure and perspective. His work is featured in an exhibit opening today in the Art Hall of Sacred Heart Cultural Center, with a reception scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday he will be doing Sunday Sketch at the Morris Museum of Art, offering visitors the opportunity to sketch in the galleries with informal instruction. Check in at the museum's activity room to pick up materials for the free program. Coming up is his workshop on portrait drawing, focusing on rendering the face from varying points of view and using correct proportions and details. The workshop will be held on two Saturdays, July 25 and Aug. 1. For registration information, contact the museum at 706-724-7501.
