WASHINGTON, Ga. - Mrs. Virginia Stevenson McClearen, 91, formerly of Hillcrest Dr., died Sat., July 4, 2009, at Elbert Memorial Hospital, Elberton. Graveside services will be held Tues., July 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery. Mrs. McClearen, daughter of the late Clifford and Ida Ruth Wolfe Stevenson, was a native of Lincoln County. She had lived in Washington most of her life and operated Virginia's Beauty Salon for over 45 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Washington, National Cosmetologist Association, and the Town and Country Garden Club, which she served as president of in 1959. Her husband, William A. "Bill" McClearen, Jr., preceded her in death. Survivors: daughter: Valerie M. Jackson, and husband, Bobby, of Tignall; son: Billy McClearen, and wife, Barbara of Tifton, Ga.; grandchildren: Steve Jackson, Rob Jackson, Leianna M. Ishler, and Brittany McClearen; 7 great-grand- children: Tabor, Brock, Maura, Hunter, Brent, Wilkes, and Lexie. Please visit and sign the the guestbook.
