Customers at Cindy's Catering and Cafe can receive $1 for dining at the restaurant. Everyone who goes into the cafe for lunch will receive a $1 bill.
Cindy Crawford, the owner, calls it her version of the economic stimulus package.
Mrs. Crawford said that she wanted to help put the dollar bill back into circulation. If 100 people eat lunch at her restaurant and receive $1, it adds up to $500 a week or $2,000 a month going back into the local economy, she said.
To help customers, she has also lowered the price of a glass of tea to 50 cents.
Cindy's Catering and Cafe serves soups, salads, sandwiches and wraps, along with hot daily specials. The cafe is open from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The locally owned and operated family business is at 4015A Washington Road in Martinez.

Through today, the restaurant honors nurses with 10 percent off their meals. Nurses should bring their ID to prove their employment. Starting Monday, the Applebee's will offer the discount to members of the National Guard and Reserves, according to a store employee.
The promotion changes each Monday, and customers can find out who will be honored that week through the restaurant's billboard sign. Applebee's has recognized police officers, firefighters, military and EMS workers.
FREE REPLACEMENT FLAGS: More than 300 family-owned Goin' Postal stores nationwide are replacing faded American flags. This month, the packing and shipping chain is offering free replacement flags to anyone who takes in a tattered, torn or faded American flag.
Each Goin' Postal store owner will have a minimum of 75 flags to give out as replacements, with a limit of one per family per physical address (post office boxes not included) while supplies last. The flags measure 4 feet by 6 feet. No purchase is necessary, but some restrictions and conditions apply.
Tattered, torn or faded flags must be in a noticeable state of disrepair and be at least 2 feet by 3 feet or larger.
Goin' Postal's American Flag Re-placement Program does not apply to plastic or novelty flags, flags that are intended for use on motorized or other vehicles, and handheld flags. Goin' Postal is at 2825 Washington Road.
