GIBSON, Ga. - . Gwenda "Gwen" W. Chalker, 52, wife of Jeffery Chalker, entered into rest Wednesday, July 01, 2009, at Medical College of Georgia. Funeral services will be held at Magnolia Baptist Church Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Alex Williams and Adrian Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Gwen was a homemaker and loved gardening and her flowers. She was a member and faithfully attended Magnolia Baptist Church. She was also very active in Relay for Life. Gwen was preceded in death by her father, James Talmadge Gay, and her mother, Edna Hobbs Gay Dye Dobbins. Survivors include her sons, Chris Kelley and Adam Kelley; step-daughter, Kim Reese; seven grandchildren, Luke, Shaun, Allyanna, Mikayla, Taliah, Josian, and Sarina; step-father, Melvin Dye; step-mother, Midge Gay; brother, Mike Dye; and two sisters, Lynn Norton and Janet Neal. Pallbearers will be Glenn Braddock, Curl Chalker, Ernie Kelley, Tony Kelley, Leonard Knotts, and Jeff Neal. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd, Augusta, GA 30909 or to the American Lung Association, 2452 Spring Rd, Smyrna, GA 30080.
