Let Sanford finish out his term. He can't be any worse than Jim "want to lay in the middle of the road" Hodges.
Gov. Mark Sanford's recent trip to Argentina proves without a doubt our governor does not know the law of his office.
- When a bill is passed by the legislature, it becomes a law when the governor signs the bill.
- If he vetoes the bill, it does not become law unless it is overridden by both houses of the legislature. This happened, but the governor decided to go to court. Does he not know the law of South Carolina?
Now he decides to override the state law by going out of the country and not following the chain of command (he is the head of the National Guard).
I worked hard last election to send him back to the Low Country. It is time now for the legislators to follow the law and impeach him.

There are no grounds to impeach, but Sanford is totally neutered. He can still veto, but he has no power nor influence nor even respect left. He helps no one by staying in office.
I actually admired this guy back when he said he wasn't going to take the KoolAidGang's stimulus money, but then after awhile he started to seem a bit wishy washy and milquetoasty, then he up and disappears (on a hiking trip to the Appalachia trail? yeah, right....appalachia, argentina, the words are so similar) then comes back from his steamy tryst with his skunk-woman (was it my imagination, or could you see the mustache on her bad picture in the paper?) and starts doing his whiny clean-up act. let me tell you what, if my old man went on record as saying "I couldn't help myself" and "I'm TRYING to forget her and TRYING to fall back in love with my wife", his butt would be out the door and I'd have every cent of every dime he would ever make in his life. Jenny should have kicked him to the curb. Dogs have more morals than this dipwad.
My sympathies are with him this week end as he is visiting his wife's family in Florida.
I think Sanford probably should resign. Not because he had an affair. Not because anything he did was illegal (at least not so far). If an affair was all it took, Clinton should have left the presidency. And Clinton did commit a criminal act by lying to Congress about it. I don't think that Sanford should resign because he "disappeared" for a few days. Many of our politicians disappear and create elaborate ruses to do so. Look at those, including the Clintons, who slipped off for a few days several times to attend the secret meetings of the Illuminati. Sanford should resign simply because, on a close reading of his emails, he appears to be having some sort of emotional crisis. Male menopause, 7 year itch, second childhood, something that has put him out of control and impacted his judgement. Republican or Democrat, when a man's nostrils get flaired there is no telling what he will do. Unfortunately for Sanford, the object of his nostrils was in Argentina. Bill Clinton was lucky enough to have his on the government payroll right there in the White House. But Bill was a Democrat so he got a pass. Republicans must resign when they show poor judgement.
Hey, Murph, what's with the "Low Country Boil:" bs? The low country's most recent gift to the State and the nation was Fritz Hollings. With that record, who cares what the low country says?
