Presidents get criticism, rightly so
Max Bolgla | Letter to the Editor

Lowell Greenbaum's criticism of The Augusta Chronicle concerning President Obama's apologizing ("Cartoon an insult to president," June 9) is beyond the pale. Every president, Democrat or Republican, has been subject to cartoons and lampooning.

Greenbaum did the same thing in an article to The Chronicle: He made fun of Gen. David Petraeus, commander of U.S. forces in Iraq.

President Obama should never apologize for the United States. Those 9,000 soldiers sleeping forever in the Omaha Beach cemetery will not be coming home. Because of the United States military, the French are not under the German boot.
