WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Mrs. Clara Ellene Portwood Provost, 72, of Bates Road, entered into rest Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at her home after an extended illness. She was born September 18, 1936 in Swainsboro, GA to the late James Ellie Portwood and Myrtis Mae Brinson Portwood. She was a life-long resident of this area and was a devoted member of Botsford Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Pryor, and her second husband, Ray Provost. She is survived by three children, Teresa Pryor of Waynesboro, Patricia Pryor of Waynesboro, and Joseph James Pryor (Angie) of Chattanooga, TN; five grandchildren, Kathryn Mobley, Wade Skinner, Jr., Dereck Skinner, Jessica M. Pryor, Jennifer Pryor; and one great-grandchild, Cole Parker Mobley. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 4, at Botsford Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Flakes, Thomas Self, James Johnson, Joe Mead, Bubba Quick, and Will Robinson. The family and the pallbearers are asked to assemble at the church.
