Yes, there is a lot of media coverage on the death of Michael Jackson. So what?
There's a lot of coverage because there are millions of people who loved his music, and for him to die tragically causes more curiosity and interest. Just because someone did not like him or his eccentric ways gives that person no right to make light of the memories or the sadness that people have.
He was part of my and a lot of people's fond childhood memories. Unless you had your head in the sand, how could anyone not love his music and his performances, especially in the 1980s?
For those complaining that he did nothing charitable, they don't know what they're talking about. However, if people stop listening to only the negative aspects of his life, they will see that he gave numerous amounts of money to charities. Listen to the words in his ballads and see how much he cared about this world.
No, he did not cure cancer, but neither did Mother Teresa or Princess Diana or Elvis -- but they were all mourned for a long period of time because they were loved and cherished by so many. The same will be done for M.J., so let there be coverage -- coverage until the people are satisfied with all the info they need about his tragic and untimely death.
And I will keep reading.
