Linebacker Jasper Brinkley , a former Thomson High School and University of South Carolina standout, signed Tuesday with the Minnesota Vikings. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The fifth-round pick of the Vikings received second-team All-Southeastern Conference honors last year after recording 65 tackles with the Gamecocks.

Brinkley is expected to compete for time as a backup linebacker and be a big contributor on special teams.

VICK UPDATE: Michael Vick 's revised bankruptcy plan would funnel more of his future pay to his creditors and ensure they receive a portion of his earnings even if the suspended NFL star doesn't return to the league.

Vick attorney Paul Campsen outlined the highlights of the new plan, which was still being drafted, at a status hearing Tuesday, before U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Frank J. Santoro .

Under the new plan, 10 percent of the first $750,000 Vick earns would go to creditors, and he's agreed to liquidate a house under construction in Virginia. If Vick doesn't return to the NFL, the new plan would give creditors a portion of whatever he earns from a lower paying job.

Vick did not attend the hearing, which came a day after he began a new job with the Boys and Girls Clubs. He had been earning $10 an hour in a construction job since leaving the federal penitentiary in May.

BROWNS: Wide receiver Donte' Stallworth said on a 911 call that the man he struck and killed while driving drunk came out of nowhere.

Stallworth is serving a 30-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to DUI manslaughter in the March 14 death of Mario Reyes , 59. Stallworth also has two years' house arrest after his release from jail.

On the 911 call, Stallworth describes how the victim "just ran in front of my car." Police have said Reyes wasn't in a crosswalk and was rushing to catch a bus when he was hit.

PANTHERS: Waived undrafted rookie linebackers Mike Juergens and Brit Miller .

Carolina still has to sign second-round draft picks Everette Brown and Sherrod Martin and third-round choice Corvey Irvin , a former Laney High School and University of Georgia standout.

PATRIOTS: Linebacker Tedy Bruschi said he hasn't considered whether he'll keep playing after 2009, which will be his 14th season with the team.

JAGUARS: Traded wide receiver Dennis Northcutt to the Lions for safety Gerald Alexander .

Northcutt gives quarterback Matthew Stafford , a rookie from Georgia who could replace Daunte Culpepper in the starting lineup, a veteran receiver opposite former Georgia Tech star Calvin Johnson .

Jasper Brinkley: Former Thomson and South Carolina linebacker is expected to help out on special teams.
