Given alternative, pick global warming

As we consider "cap and trade" and global warming, pray keep before us and our lawmakers two predominant facts:

- In the new Al Gore-Barack Obama cap-and-trade world, nuclear power must predominate.

- We must have a world government to effectively enforce world cap and trade and to control the world's plutonium, inevitably produced in massive new amounts by the widespread new Gore-Obama reactors, else we will curse our children with dozens of new North Koreas and their plutonium bombs.

The choice is global warming or government by the United Nations, with a world U.N. Supreme Court, a U.N. FBI, a U.N. penal system, U.N. army units stationed at Fort Gordon and a U.N. IRS. To me the choice is very easy. Give me global warming any day, with the Atlantic Ocean lapping at New Ellenton if it comes to that, or whatever it involves.

The government of change we can believe in and being open, posting bills before being passed into law etc. concealed a report by the EPA casting doubts on global warming...This whole cap and trade bill is to squeeze dollars from middle class Americans to fund Obama's socialist agenda, it wil DO NOTHING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT...Obama is proving to be the hypocrit and lier in chief, NO MIDDLE CLASS TAXES IN MY ADMINISTRATION...

patriciathomas

This endless madness will continue at an ever increasing rate as long as this mad Marxist is in office.

HotFoot

Only a lunatic could see nuclear power as our sole energy source and world government by the UN as the inevitable results of the climate bill that just passed. Obviously, given the first three responses, the man is preaching to the choir.

Longleaf

How, Hot Foot, would you enforce world "cap and trade" without a very intrusive world government? And if you don't allow fossil fuel energy, how, pray tell, will we cool and heat ourselves, light our homes and businesses, .... if we don't go nuclear in a major way? And if we do go nuclear worldwide, how pray, tell do we prevent dozens of North Koreas without a very strong UN?

draksig

"Cap and trade" will lead to one inevitable conclusion. Jobs and factories will be shifted from the USA to other countries that refuse to go along with this madness. When companies are faced with the choice of paying fees/taxes for pollution and moving to a friendlier country, the choice is obvious. If they do not move, they will lose market share and profits to foreign companies that are not restricted by C.A.T.

Government by the U.N. is not such a far stretch. Every time we sign any environmental agreement, trade agreement, treaty, etc. through the U.N. we are giving them the authority to enforce it. Enough agreements and we are de facto governed by the U.N. It's not so far away. If you would have told me 25 years ago that my government would be attempting to tell me what to eat, what to drink, what to smoke, what to drive, seizing private assets to give to the unions, dictating salaries, running car companies, running banks, and dictating what medical procedures I could have I would not have believed any of that either. When the nuts are in control anything is possible. You can keep the CHANGE. I am disgusted with the direction this country is taking. I hate this oppressive heavy handed government. May it fall violently with a mighty THUD. I would rather live in a free anarchy than a government dictated communist "utopia".

More lunatic ravings...

Look at how effective the UN has been thus far. Count their successes. See how much they have supported US ideaology. Why would anyone not support global government by this entity?

mad_max

grouse....there are many who consider government dictated healthcare standards, government dictated automobiles, government dictated energy prices, government dictated (through taxes) dietary standards, government dictated salaries, and government support of ACORN as lunatic ravings. Now we get the news that under the House Cap and Trade bill, you cannot even sell your house unless it meets (unspecified) government mandated energy efficiency standards. Lunacy? Lunacy is a free people willingly giving up their right to make their own decisions just because they hated Bush. That is lunacy. Lunacy is an entire nation turning over their healthcare decisions to a government bureacrat. That is lunacy. I can remember when wanting to be free of government dictates was called freedom and was patriotic, not lunatic.

Posted by HotFoot on Wed Jul 1, 2009 7:28 AM....notsohotfoot, have you read the Capa dn Tax Bill? If so, you are way ahead of those in the House who voted for it. Part of that bill requires that all new houses have a government environmental label on it if. Think of what that does to increase the cost and make housing even more unaffordable to the average middle class. BTW, it has already been estimated that this bill will cost two jobs for every one it MAY create and will do NOTHING to decrease CO2 being produced by such as China and India, and in fact, may increase that out put when American manufacturers that are unable or unwiling to pay the taxes move to China, India or elsewhere as well as costing more American jobs to be lost. Cap and tax is a lose, lose proposition. Ya' better hope the Senate can't be intimidated as was the "blue dog" sheeple in the House by Pilosi. 2010 is NEXT year..

Well, BimbObama has already forecast rationioning health care by stating that anyone over 70 will not get Medicare for dialysis. The Bimbo obviously doesn't realize that NOT having dialysis assures the death of thousands of blacks each year as kidney failure is primarily a "black's" desease. Of the four rows of machines in the clinic I go to, there are only three whites being treated, including me. Guess I can carve my head stone now, as I am over 70. A little off subject, but a sample of government control of our lives along with teling us how much electricity we can use (without a fee) or how much heat we can use (without a fee) and how what kind of light bulbs we can use. In other words, the EPA will replace our local/state regulatory agencies and in fact, regulate our daily lives..

HotFoot

Jack, please provide your source or a citation for the claim that Obama says no one over 70 will receive dialysis. Not surprised you're over 70....you sound like an angry old white man.

dont live there anymore

HotFoot, there is no way you can outsmart that "angry old man" who has lived a good while and knows what works and what won't work. Being old is a given if you take care of yourself and any white man should be proud and certainly should be angy.

patriciathomas

Whether messiah Obama says it or not, when the "health care" industry is nationalized, you can bet your white hating self that no one over 70 will receive dialysis in this country.

Dudleydudley

Hahahaha dumbasses. READ A BOOK.

If cap and trade passes you are hosed. You won't be able to sell your house unless you do thousands of dollars in energy upgrades and all kinds of other cr*p, this will not be America any more...

mad_max

This is already not America any more. And we will be hosed if Cap and Trade passes and if Universal Healthcare passes. And I have never listened to Rush. Because I am an old white guy I have lived through enough administrations to know what works and what don't. I can recognize a president and Congress that are ten times worse than Jimmy Carter and he was the biggest economic disaster I have seen until O'dumbo, P'onya, and R'eidiculous came along.
