BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Mr. Gilbert Wade Allen, 67, of Beech Island Avenue, Beech Island, South Carolina, entered into rest June 29, 2009. Mr. Allen was a native of Louisville, Kentucky, a former resident of Leesburg, Florida, having made Beech Island his home for the past 2 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a trucking owner-operator and the Leesburg Area Representative for Gold Wing Road Riders. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Donna Allen, a son, Joseph Wayne Allen, Zephyrhills, FL; two daughters, Melony McLeod and Barbara Casey, both of Louisville, KY; two step-daughters, Karen Wade, Lady Lake, FL and Terry Britting, Merritt Island, FL; two brothers, William Pipes, New Albany, IN and Robert Pipes, McKinney, TX; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
