Please spell out for me exactly what it was that Michael Jackson did in his lifetime that was so humanitarian and good for all mankind to deserve the hoopla and fanfare in the press since doing us all a favor and passing on. I don't understand how a mere pop star can garner such lavish attention, especially considering his questionable morals and lifestyle.
Did he find a cure for cancer, multiple sclerosis or diabetes? No. Did he discover new ways for us to fuel our cars, planes and trucks? No. Did he find alternate energy sources for us to use in place of electric to light our houses and keep them cool in summer and warm in winter? No. Did he develop any ideas for working toward peace on Earth for all? No. Did he collaborate with others toward ending world hunger and poverty? No.
About all this guy ever did was make a bunch of music videos, wear a funky glittery glove, pull off a couple clever dance moves, squeal like a little girl and undergo countless hours of plastic surgery to gratify his own selfish, ego-driven interests. Oh, yeah, he also managed to become famous for supposedly getting too friendly with little boys -- but of course all that bit of debauchery was conveniently swept under the rug.
But now he's dead, and the media act like he was the male counterpart of Mother Teresa, just cause he was a star . It's absolutely sickening and reeks of hypocrisy.
Your paper should have taken a higher road and not even bothered to report on the death of who was essentially a waste of human skin and bones.
