Funniest clip I've seen in a long time, now this is entertainment!
A manager's animated disagreement with an umpire's ruling last week at an Augusta GreenJackets game was unique enough to draw the attention of Sports Illustrated and ESPN.
On Monday afternoon, Sports Illustrated linked to a video of Rome Braves manager Randy Ingle's entertaining tirade that was posted on The Augusta Chronicle Web site. An ESPN producer expressed interest in using the clip for a Monday night SportsCenter broadcast.
Several sports blogs fueled the fire with links to the quickly growing Internet sensation. The video on AugustaChronicle.com, posted Sunday night, had been viewed 7,000 times by early Monday evening.
The tirade came to an entertaining climax when Ingle, disputing a home run ball that was ruled foul during Thursday night's GreenJackets game, dug out third base and relocated it halfway down the base path toward second as if to move the foul line.
"I heard about it and have talked to several eyewitnesses," South Atlantic League President Eric Krupa said Monday. "Any time a manager or player is ejected, we review it."
Krupa said he's looked over reports from both umpires at the game. The league doesn't comment on specific punishments, he said, but it does reserve the right to fine or suspend a player or coach for their actions on the field.
GreenJackets general manager Nick Brown said his staff is in the preliminary stages of planning a "Fair or Foul Night" when Rome returns Sept. 5. Among the ideas discussed was a promotion to give any child who turns in a foul ball a chance to run the bases after the game as if they had hit a home run.

What an idiot. What does this teach our kids who watch and participate in "Playing" this game? Games are games, and for the life of me I can't understand how games became such a big business, except that people are stupid enough to spend their time and money on such trivia. Personally, I think that only a fool would spend so much time and money on a game meant to be played for fun. Sports and entertainment has gotten too much of the interest of the world public. Wake up people!
To a child, yes, a game is just a game. But professional sports are something more than that. They have been an escape from reality for people for thousands of years. It's a great way for us to put aside the stress and troubles of our daily lives and to be entertained.
The fans definitely got their money's worth that night!

Good grief. He looks like he's doing the chicken dance, hen-pecking version. Cluck, cluck, cluck. That ump had more patience than I would have had.
Both umpires' professionalism is VERY impressive.
I'll bet he threw tantrums as a child when he didn't get his way....
Yes, the umpires should be commended for their patience and professionalism during this ridiculous outburst.......
Too bad the commissioners of Richmond County can't act like these umpires did!
