BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Mrs. Agnes Toomer Stevenson, of Stevenson Court, entered into rest June 24, 2009. Mrs. Stevenson, a native of Jasper County was a member of Hazel Grove Baptist Church where she served on the deaconess ministry. Survivors include a daughter, Geneva (James) Johnson, Augusta; four sons, James (Andrea) Stevenson,, Charleston, SC, Alex Stevenson, Ricky Stevenson and Robert Stevenson, North Augusta, SC; four sisters, Wilhemenia Drayton, Ridgeland, SC, Bertha (Heyward) Washington, Mildred Knighton, Atlanta, GA., and Thelma Lewis, Boston, MA; six brothers, Isiah (Ollie Mae) Toomer, Ridgeland, SC, Samuel Toomer, Boston, MA, George (Emma) Toomer, Jacksonville FL, Robert (Margie) Toomer, Lithonia, Ga., Ulyses (Willie Mae) Toomer, Ridgeland, SC and Joe Louis Toomer, Florida; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the residence. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Hazel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Henry Ingram officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. G.L.
