With the decision of our South Carolina Supreme Court (on federal stimulus money), it can be honestly be said the blind is now leading the blind.
The state Supreme Court has completely disregarded the principle of separation of powers. You remember -- our Founding Fathers gave us checks and balances. The legislative branch was to make the law. The executive branch was to carry out or veto the laws. The judicial branch was to see that the laws measured up. That in essence is a republic.
When the legislative branch makes the laws, enforces the laws and interprets the laws, what we have is tyranny. In any direction you look, there is only corruption. We are living in a time when those in authority have eyes, but choose not to see, and they have ears but choose not to hear. Human nature is not going to change. Those who benefit from government programs do not want to give then up.
This decision will only compound our problem. Two years down the road, when the stimulus money runs out, we will face the same problem, only twice as bad. At the state level, we are no more than a clone of the federal government. At the federal level, we are looking at hyperinflation, nationalization of all major businesses and the groundwork for a dictatorship.
With the election of Barack Obama, we have experienced a coup d'etat . As my husband has said for many years, we are living in a fool's paradise.
What is needed greatly is for the American people to pull out their Constitution, study it and enforce it.

People do not care about the constitution.They only care about change.
Once the voting public discovers they can vote themselves access to the public treasury, the state begins to collapse and a dictatorship follows. At least, so far, every time throughout history. Now, we're about to do the exact same thing and expect different results. Can anyone define insanity? Is anyone else angry at the level of education doled out by government schools?

I agree our nation has been living in a fool's paradise, but I disagree the our current President is responsible. I would say that whoever was elected would have initiated a second stimulus, it was the only logical path for providing the country with direction in a period of economic sag. There is a tremendous economic risk in these actions, and every citizen should take a critical eye to what is going on. That said, I support taking a chance on our future. I think that if we do not take the risk today, we will leave our children with even worse problems than the bill for all of this.
kick the can on down the road. delay pain at all costs. reward govt failure by giving them more power and more money. never let a crisis go unused. greater dependence grows the state.
the sooner it all falls down the better off we will be.
unnecessary, unneeded government interference led to the collapse of the economy and more unnecessary and unneeded government interference will delay the recovery. All government has to do is get back to the "watchdog" position and quit trying to micromanage the economy. Redistribution doesn't work. Socialism doesn't work.

Glenda....might as well save your breath. We have slowly and surely eroded the intent of the Constitution since the days of Hoover. We have gleefully ceded more unintended power to the federal government with each and every promise they made to "give" us something. Now, with this administration and socialist Congress, we are witnessing the total collapse of the Constitution. And the Supreme Court, that bastion of the Constitution, has abdicated it's responsibilities for enforced of the Constitution when it comes to federal power. Apparently it feels more comfortable dabbling in our personal lives instead of doing it's primary function. So save your breath. 60% of our people are determined to become a third world socialist country and when they decide that they don't like it, it will be too late. It's easy to get flushed into the socialist septic tank but much harder to climb out. Just ask the Russians or Eastern Europeans. Check out the tax rates in England. Look at the medical care in Canada. That is what our young people aspire to be. Everyone complains about how "out of control" our banks and financial institutions were. History says that a government in control will be worse.

Looks like that the things stated in the movie that was put out some years back about the Muslim and Islamic communities rising up in arms and saying that Obama would be like JFK. May well come to pass with his BS with North Korea and Iran. The scary part is looking at who would replace him is scarier than having him in office.
One of Obama's claims to fame is that he is supposed to have been a constitutional attorney - is it possible that he spent that time learning how to AVOID using the constitution as his guideline? And the congress just sits there with their rubber stamps when they are ALLOWED to be in the loop...Anything that might take too long or might not make it through congress is signed into law with the stroke of his left handed (and left minded) pen. Where is the outcry? When will the people of THIS country take to the streets like the people of Iran? Our country is in very serious trouble, with its government having been placed in the hands of a rank amateur who knows nothing about anything but does something about everything that comes across his path whether or not it fits into the scope of being president. It's serious people - the people of Iran are at least vocalizing their anger and distrust yet we sit and talk about it but do nothing, no even contact our congress people who no longer represent us anyway and seem to have taken leave of their senses. If we don't stop pending legislation NOW we are done, doomed and our country will no longer be what our forefathers planned.

The Bush record is up for all to see. Look at any web page for the info. Ellie Smeal and others are telling the truth about George (Bush). They have archives of action alerts. And being the slowpoke that I am, I have some of their action alerts as well about Bush's destruction of our Constitution.

willi, I do feel I've lost way more constitutional rights since Obam took office. I'm durned scared to buy bonds. I'll shut up about Obam's health care plan if he will make all federal employees, himself, and members of Congress join us in the plan. Oh, yes, and the members of the AWU. If they are going to dictate to us they type of insurance we are to have, they need to prove to us that it is good enough for them.
